This flower grows in the front yard of my sisters house in the Philippines. It is a beautiful flower but my sister doesn´t know the name of this flower. She asked me about it because she thought I know a lot. I told her I have no idea and this was the first time I have seen a photo of this flower. But then, I told her, "don´t worry. I ask my fellow bloggers."
Do you know this plant? Do you have this in your garden? Thanks in advance.

Looks like an allium. I had many growing in garden beds at my last residence.

Yes, they look similar @ElusiveButterfly but the leaves are different. The photo above is Scadoxus multiflorus or Blood Lily

@hereandthere think she bought it in the open air market and the seller didn't know the name either.

@LadyDuck yes, it is. I have some poisonous flowers in my garden and told my family and their kids to not to eat the leaves or so. At least they know when I told them and they didn't even know it when my late mother planted some of those plants.

I think that is blood lily. We had that before in our backyard and it had a bulb, like an onion and sprouts when it rains. Sometimes, flowers come out instead of the leaves.

@thelme55 that's nice! It's just sad that the flowers only last for a few days and they only bloom once a year. I just don't know if you can let it bloom more than once if you water it regularly.

@brokenbee wow! I could write an article about this plant already in my other writing site but I have to plant this blood lily first when I go home to Pinas. My sister has bulbs from this flower to share with me. I can't wait to dig my hands again in my tropical garden.
