Sunset just south of Paynes Find, Western Australia

We recently returned from a few days in the mid-west of Western Australia. We stayed at a station out of Paynes Find. This region is part of the 'outback' although as distances go it isn't all that remote. Sunrises and sunsets are often quite spectacular in these regions. We free-camped on our way home pulling into a flat, disused gravel pit. Vince went off with his camera and this is one of the remarkable photos he took of the sunset. The next night we also camped away from civilisation and witnessed another memorable sunset. I'll keep that photo for another time.

We have some truly beautiful sunsets and sun rises out here. Being able to see so much sky is one of the things I love about living here.

What a beautiful sky canvas of bright colors. It always amazes me that no two sunsets are exactly alike, yet so many are spectacular -- especially when there are clouds to diffuse and reflect the colors of the setting sun.

Remarkable find, Judy, of this gorgeous sunset. It actually looks like a painting especially with the tad bit of sky showing just over the tree line on the right and the break in clouds on the left. Although the clouds are dark, it's a lovely display of color. The dark section even looks a bit blue underneath.
