Legal or illegal, wanna bet? Here in the Philippines, many Filipinos are into betting--both legal and illegal. From that what we call "ending" to the game series. The ending are the figures at the.end of the.game, a basketball game. While some are into the game series (cavs or warriors). With amount being agreed. There is also what we call jueteng(hwe-teng). Jueteng is said to be originated in China and means "flower" (jue) and "bet" (teng). Jueteng is used to be illegal, tried to make it legal hence its name now, small town lottery(stl). Amount needed in betting is not that.much, for as low.as 5 pesos ($.090), bettors can win 2000 pesos around $44. And many people here.are into.this. Like they set aside an amount just to bet. Gambling, betting is risky but most people are.st trying their luck.for the.hope.of winning an amount. Sometimes i feel.bad to.some bettors, who would prioritize putting their bet than have the money used for their needs. Oh well, that is their money anyway but... By the way, i am.scared.of losing my money just.for this. Lol.

Some of my neighbors got hook into this illegal gambling like jueteng, they are hoping that they may win so that they can buy more rice or any needs, they try their luck to bet so that they can get an instant bigger money if they win.

@Lucky15 Reine, I think it is nationwide. Just imagine, how much you'll win and that's the only thing that gamblers think, not their lost.. he, he.

Gambling is legal in this country too - you can bet on horse races, dog races, football etc. My husband regularly bets small amounts - there's no harm, and it gives him an interest. Of course, people can become addicted to it, then it is a problem.

@jaboUK these spiders are those from the ricefields. They are caught and keep inside a matchbox. A stick is needed for those insect to fight. Spider on both ends.

Betting also play an important role in daily life. Mostly they are so free and gather together to have some fun. Without involving money has not much fun then. While I was in Cambodia, most building have top floor open with some shed We can see a number of people are standing there looking at the sky. I was so curious and latter I found out there were gambling, they bet when will rain....

I stop playing the lottery many months ago since my first check up. I realize my health is important first. though my number might come out, it's okay.

I had a conversation with a tricycle driver one time about how he won some money with Swertres. He said he wanted to have his tricycle renovated (or have some minor repairs done) but he thought he might be able to have more money for major fixes so he bet again. In the end, he used up all his money and his tricycle remained the same. Haha it was sad and funny at the same time. He said he learned his lesson and that he'll never gamble again. And then he proceeded to make fun of everyone he knows who's hooked on gambling.

We can bet with just, for example, a bottle of Coke, or a sandwich. This is better than money because it may cause grudges.

I know there is a thin line between betting for fun and betting for addiction. Somehow I have been fortune to not derive a thrill in betting. I also understand that all major religions forbids betting and gambling.
