'Whitey' came back for another visit

Looks like there might be hope that it will become a frequent visitor here at the house. I pulled in the drive after work and immediately noticed it feeding under the Squirrel Tree...and of course, Scar went out as soon as I got home, but he's sitting on the porch ignoring the squirrel, and the squirrel is ignoring him...this could be the start of a good relationship. I'd been hoping to have one start showing up fairly regular, and while this is only the second time I have actually seen it, I am fairly sure it's been around when I haven't been looking. Nice way to start the summer.

WE have two black crows showing up much more regularly than we'd like. They fight the two crows they see in our French windows and have already wrecked the fly-wire there. We rush out shouting and yelling but it hasn't deterred them much. Maybe we need a Scar.

@JolietJake I'm just use to seeing black, grey and brown squirrels, so an albino one is totally cool. You lucky devil you.

Being raised here, where they are an everyday thing (fairly much) I forget the rest of the world doesn't see them

So cool. My dog is an all-white Japanese Spitz and just imagining her playing with a white squirrel would look like two clouds running in the garden. But all my little "Yuyu" ever does is chase away the birds that peck on my grandmother's tomatoes and scare some little bunnies away. Too busy being a guard dog, she is failing really bad at friendliness.

@JolietJake a birds. At times Yuyu grows tired constantly moonlighting as a scarecrow she just couldn't be bugged anymore. Sleeps on the job

Scar 'stalks' the birds and such occasionally, but since he's on a lead, he never quite reaches them

Our cat and the squirrels in our garden seem to have a mutual respect for each other. When he in in the garden, they remain in the trees, when he is not around they run around the garden like they own the place. We have a brown and black squirrel which we have called Jacket Man because the positioning of the brown fur makes it look like it is wearing a jacket, especially when sitting on it's hind legs

Scar is usually pretty good with them, but every once in a while he'll 'stalk' one...but since he's on the lead, the chances of him succeeding are pretty low

@JolietJake Those squirrels are fast, nothing can catch them if they are running and they go up a tree just as fast.

Huh, I didn't think white furred squirrels existed. I'm guessing that's not common in Illinois either for you to take note of it.

We actually have a good sized colony in Olney, but they are fairly rare elsewhere

I showed my daughter the pictures from one of your recent posts of these little guys. She was awe struck.

That's so cool having white ones around . . . I've NEVER seen them here - although we have tons and tons of those browney gray types.

Our cat didn't ignore squirrels. He played with them until they had no more play left in them, if you know what I mean.

Nice picture If you keep feeding it over time you may be able to semi tame it. Where my sister used to live was part of a private estate. One big mansion (owned for 700 years by the same family) and a few houses that used to belong to servants. They had deer there and over a year or two she tamed a couple and they'd take food out of your hand.

I can't hand feed them, but a couple of the grey squirrels will come and start feeding about 3 feet away from me while I am putting food out. We've been feeding daily for several years.
