Hooray for payday!!!

Because being broke sucks, and I've been broke for almost 3 weeks now...
I had to request my last paycheck 5 days early due to the starter going bad on my van, and that actually ate up the money that would have normally gone for groceries and 'incidentals'.
So I've been tightening my belt, and watching the fuel gauge get lower....and lower...hoping to have enough to last until I got paid again.
In fact, I just went and bought fuel to make sure I'll get to work to get my check.
I only have about 80 cents in the bank, but by the time the credit charge reaches it in a day or so, I'll have deposited my paycheck so I won't show up as overdrawn on the account.
I even celebrated and bought a soda and a pack of cigarettes.
*starts planning bill payments*
Well hell...looks like I'm gonna be broke for another two weeks now.
Scar is just happy I have cat food in the budget.

@JolietJake Good photo, it's hard to be able to take pictures of cicadas, I have never understood where they hide during the day.

It does suck being broke and nothing worse than getting paid just to be broke again a few hours later. lol You think with all the advancements we have made over the last few hundred years they would have solved this, but I guess that would require wiping out greed and no one wants to do that. How else are we all to get rich?

@JolietJake That is what I do also. Hold on to the last dollar of two in hopes that it will spawn into a 100 dollar bill. Plus, it is always nice to have a little something to impress the ladies with.

I was hanging on to the last few dollars I had as hard as I could...it wasn't enough to buy much more than a loaf of bread (stale and on sale) but at least I wasn't completely broke

I've got to get some good flea medication for him too...he's not gonna like it, but he likes fleas even less.

@Inlemay I bought some, but it isn't worth anything at all, so I am going to buy a more expensive/potent brand.

@JolietJake at my old house I just had to pay £300 rent and the rest was included except food and car costs.
Now I pay £400 rent, £80 council tax, £45 electric and gas, £20 water and then car and food costs...I sort of wish I hadn't moved but being so cheap there was no real incentive for me to work whereas here there is

If I had to pay everything here at the house, it would be dark and cold in the winter...just dark during the summer

Not when the money has to go out on bills you didn't plan on having.

It must be very hard to try to manage when you have no reserves. We haven't known too many periods like this although we walked away from a business once with nothing in our pocket. Luckily Vince had a job to go to but things were tight for a while.

The last two paychecks both went on vehicle repairs not in the budget, first the brakes went bad, and then a few weeks later the starter quit. I'm just crossing my fingers everything keeps working now for a bit.
