Who Wants some Chocolate?

I found a most interesting article online about the history of chocolate. It has always been important. The Mayans used it as money, the bride and groom fed each other chocolate at the wedding ceremony, and it was used in baptisms. So grab yourself a candy bar and read this fascinating story.
Ever wondered who invented chocolate? Was it the Mayans? The Europeans? Milton Hershey? Learn all about chocolate history here.

Chocolate was brought to the Philippines by the Spaniards via Mexico during the Galleon trade (Manila and Acapulco were sister cities) and Mexicans were decendants of the Mayans and Aztecs To this day you can still buy pure chocolate tablets called" tablea" and high end shops still prepare them the way they were served, as hot drink using the "molinillo and batidor" Think a chocolate bar is just fine with me

@1creekgirl oh yes because it's probably tablea, dark chocolate made from pure cacao beans, it's also very healthy cause it contains a lot of antioxidants plus a certain element that makes you feel happy after consuming it

@1creekgirl Yes, that is wonderful. You can make it at home, too. There are probably recipes online.

We are inundated by chocolate. Nestlé celebrates its 150th anniversary this year. I receive discount coupons every day to buy chocolate.

You've got that right. There are people who don't like it but not many.

That is so cool. I didn't know they used it for money. Maybe we should get rid of the dollar and have chocolate as our money. lol

Me too. It makes me feel better to eat it. Anything that does that is not a bad thing.
