No Piano Practice Right Now

I just realized that I haven't practiced my piano for 3 weeks, since my sister came. I prefer playing piano when no one is in the house. So I guess it won't be played for another few weeks. But that's okay, I do different things right now with my sister around. We are having fun and that's all it matters. We had not seen each other for 3 years and who knows how long it will be before the next visit.

No tinkling of the ivories makes for rusty fingers.

I guess my fingers will be a little rusty when I get back to it. But it will come back.

There are things that I prefer not to do when I have family around. You cannot play piano now, but you are enjoying precious time with your sister.

Yes, I am enjoying this time with my sister. We lost one of our sister last year to Lupus, so this is very precious to us.

@marlina I am very sorry, I did not know (or I did not remember) that you lost your sister. I imagine that the time you spend now with your sister is even more precious.

It isn't easy especially when one doesn't have a "natural" talent.

So you just like to play the piano for your own pleasure? I can understand that. It's important to enjoy this time with your sister.

Yes, I only play for my own pleasure as I am not very good at it and do not want to impose my playing on anybody. It makes me happy and that's good enough for me.

True, my piano will be waiting for me later on, it has been a faithful companion for more than 25 years. A wonderful gift from my husband.

I assume that your sister doesn't play the piano? If she did, you two could play together! That would be fun, too!

It is so good you are having a long visit. I think this may explain the increased coffee consumption too, you have company. Will you be all rusty when she leaves and have to do lots of practice?

Your piano practice can wait and what is important is the bonding moment with your sister whom you haven't seen for 3 years.
