Storks in flight

Here is another picture from my bird watching adventures. It is a picture of some painted storks in flight. I had taken this a few years ago.
There is something peaceful and calm about watching the skies.. the sight of birds in flight against the sky brings the sky to life, just as fluffy, moving clouds do.
There is something so elegant about a flock of storks in flight. This scene reminds me of the words ;-
Come, on wings of joy we’ll fly
To where my bower hangs on high;
Come, and make thy calm retreat,
Among green leaves and blossoms sweet. by William Blake in The Birds

Thank you @crazyhorseladycx . I am glad you like them. Last evening as I watered my plants I saw a flock of parakeets flying above. I actually heard they noisy chatter before I saw them.

@sofssu a flock'f parakeets?? what a treat! last flock'f birds that came through here 'twas late winter - cedar waxwings which i'd ne'er seen 'fore'n these parts. jest hung 'round fer a few days, snackin' 'n juniper berries. did manage to get a few photos, though the skies were grey'n those'f 'em'n flight awash.

@Jessicalynnt In flight or even otherwise. I guess because they are so leggy.

Lovely picture and I agree, it is peaceful to watch the sky, I think most of us don't do it often enough.

@BelleStarr I agree most of us don't do it often enough. My friends keep asking me where did I go to get the pictures that I post, when most of them are from my backyard.. not this one though. Thanks for the comment on the picture.

I agree about the peacefulness of watching the sky. Birds have such a special place in y heart. My beloved son whom i lost at the age of 13 absolutely LOVED birds. he would learn about them, watch them, write about them, draw them.

@jillybean1222 I am so sorry about your son..
I think he would have made a great ornithologist. I love birds too, bird watching and photography are some of my favorite hobbies.

Thank you.. The poem just popped into my head as I posted the picture.
