This is my recently turned eight years old granddaughter. Do you notice anything unusual in the photo? It's not the horse, because she rides every day at camp. It's not her helmet, because everyone wears one when riding. It's not her jodhpurs, because they are what we wear when riding English saddle. Look around her flat as a board little chest. See it yet?
She is wearing a bra!
She needed one, badly, so she said. Her 12 and 13 year old ice skating friends ALL wear them. Every day.
So her daddy, my older son, went to the nearest store in Maine, and bought her a load of bras while her mom stayed in the hotel to care for her younger brother.
What does a man know about bras, except to unhook them?

@LadyDuck same here! I want to look younger, too! When I was young, girls smiled at me, talked to me, invited me for picnic, and so on. Now those wonderful moments are long gone! Only few old ladies smile at me these days . .

That takes me back - all my friends seemed to be developing far quicker than me, and of course I had older sisters too. So I filched one of their bras and stuck handkerchiefs in them! Who I thought I fooled I do not know. I wasn't as young as your granddaughter though, perhaps 11 or 12.

It must be confusing for her @DianneN I don't recall even thinking about bras when I was 8 ... I don't recall having any friends either, we lived on base in Germany and most of the kids were little boys at least 3 or 4 years younger than me.

LOL . . . @DianneN . . I don't only know how to unhook bras (O, I love unhooking bras) but I also know how to hook them on. I love putting on the bras of my wife and act like Mrs. Doubtfire!

@DianneN It was those straps I noted first.I wondered why ? Now I know.While we try not to show our bra-straps,in all the photos of celebrities we can see them showing off. Your grand daughter looks cute.It is obvious she is happy.Well,that is what matters.

Yes I see them. I remember when my granddaughter wanted to wear a bra and had nothing to show for it. But she got them anyway. She just wants to fit in with the rest of her friends, so cut her some slack. She'll realize soon enough she could have waited a little longer to grow up.

oh, so cute growing up kid. yes, i see her strap. yes girls now are so conscious of their bodies that is why young as they are, they need to have something to "fill up" their chests with brassiere. but that is also good, because they now know how to be careful of their bodies.

She seems to like her new bras and that is what matters. At least she wants to wear one at that age I know plenty of kids that didn't want to wear them at all.
