To tweet or not to tweet? Do any of you myLotters?

Why would or should I tweet? I wonder if any of you do? i know nothing whatever about Twitter, but it has been such a big thing that it may soon not be a big thing. Trump tweets incessantly. I would never read those, but they make the news. What if a tweeter gets re-tweeted? I guess that's good thing since it means someone read your tweet. I got to wondering about this when I decided to write a note to a favorite Oregon Public Broadcasting host who is leaving for KQED in San Francisco. When I looked up his contact information, I saw his many tweets. I thought, well I can do that, but who would care? So, tell us, do you tweet on Twitter?

@JamesHxstatic Plus when I pin to pinterest, that automatically shares to my facebook. I'm really glad I happened across your post and will try really hard to share posts of interest at least now and then. It will help everyone out.

I never understood the appeal of tweeting but maybe I'm just too old. My grandchildren are all into the whole Twitter rage

It's a form of online gossip or chatting that works faster than email, that's all. But it can be useful for many things.

Perhaps you do not have a reason to do that.

@JamesHxstatic If you have no reason to do so, then it would be a waste of time.

I don't tweet either. Maybe it's more a younger person thing? On one of our current affairs programs, tweets from various people run across the bottom of the page throughout the program putting questions or their point of view.

@JudyEv ... I do it to promote my articles that I write. That is a cheap, easy way to promote them!

They do that on a show that I usually watch called The View. I don't like the visual distraction, but I don't mind when one of the ladies reads it out loud.

I would like to mention that I like the way you write. About tweeting, I did join twitter a few years ago....but I found it quite pointless. Many people are just reporting about their everyday movements. I didn't enjoy it...so i left.

@JamesHxstatic - Read Twitter during a major event like a presidential debate. It is fascinating to read the comments that other people make. Others often notice little things that I didn't pay attention to.

I honestly just forget that we can share posts here on twitter and facebook. I should share a few each day...my own and then a couple of others that I think will be of interest to those who follow me. Sharing is caring, and sharing increases views and earnings. I will tweet your post now LOL

I have but I don't. Just like here at before at bubblews and just about anywhere else, the best way to be read is to read what others post. I've never invested much time being interactive on twitter. I've done it somewhat, but I just don't have the extra time to be consistent with it. I've not posted anything new for over a year and funny thing is that I keep getting new followers. I don't know why that is since I rarely check those people out. It could be they know some of those I'm connected to and are just following all their friends much like new people tend to do on any site. On bubblews and other writing sites it was a way to get our writing out into search engine traffic, but here at mylot I doubt that many would be searching for topics that we write about. I keep my account there for the future in case I ever have the necessary time to make it work for me.

Yes, I Tweet several times a day. I even use a service called Hootsuite that will send out Tweets that I plan in advance. I have over 2200 Twitter followers (which amazes even me). I send out Tweets about articles I write on MyLot, on The Daily Voice News, my Baby-Boomer-Retirement blog, and on other sites where I write. I have a wide variety of followers. Some are interested in travel articles I write on MyLot about Laguna Beach; some follow me because I write articles about retirement and the stock market; others are interested in the entertainment articles I write about "The Bachelor" franchise. Nearly every time I write an article, I Tweet about it. It really does increase my readership.

@ElizabethWallace - I follow about 2,000 people. I don't follow everyone who follows me, but I do follow nearly all of them.

For me twitter was nothing, but now I am active there (if not bored) there are many genuine and parody accounts of real people. Good jokes always made my day. and sharing information is easy. Indian government is also taking social media seriously, so any query or help is also asked there.

I have been on Twitter since 2008. It can be useful to people in business but I find it very handy if I have a complaint about a major organisation. Putting it onTwitter, with its huge audience, can get rapid results when other approaches have failed.

I don't use Twitter. I had one for awhile but I never saw the point of it so I deleted the account. I am not big on social media. I mostly just use Snapchat and Pinterest.
