What a Day!

Up at 3 AM this morning, my son picked me up at 4:30 to go over to the house and get what we could get done, which unfortunately wasn't everything. He did however, have help from a couple friends at work so the U-Haul was able to get back almost on time and they checked it in as on time. I called to say we would be a little bit late.
As early as the day was, I needed a nap shortly after getting back to the apartment and got a two hour glorious nap, along with a wonderful invigorating shower. I had the maintenance guy put in my massaging shower head with 5 settings, and the good thing about it, I could reach the shower head to change the settings and decide which one I liked best. The one I liked was the combo shower and massage.
In order to get this move completed on time, I did need to contact movinghelp dot com and contract to get it finished. There's only a little bit of packing left - the top cupboard in my son's room. Other than that, it's getting all the garbage out of the house and from the yard and getting the house cleaned sufficiently so it will pass inspection tomorrow. It's amazing how much debris and garbage there is when all the packing is done. It will be finished tomorrow afternoon.
So now I'm here for a short time before I pick my son up for work, and then I'll be back to interact the rest of the night, or as long as I can stay awake. No doubt I'll need to be up by 4 again tomorrow as he will be bringing the car back and I'll need to take him back to his girlfriend's for some sleep before the moving people come.
I just got a call to confirm tomorrow's moving help, so I'll be at the house by 9 AM tomorrow. It will be another full day, but it will be done and that's the important thing.

Be for you know it, all of this will be behind you and you can put your feet up and just enjoy your new home. My day was primarily spent in the garden!!

I hope you have some good days left in the garden yet as we head into fall soon. The move is done, now I just need to unpack it all.

honestly when we move thats the part we almost always hire out, someone to do all the cleaning left behind. by that point we are exhausted. I suggested my aunt do that, and she did, she had a maid service come and do the final cleans of her apartment too, saved her some extra exhaustion

I almost did that, but they only wanted it broom swept, so that's what they got. I didn't go to any extra trouble cleaning it spotless like I normally do and if I ever move from here, I will do that. I'll hire the people to pack and move and to clean. By that time I'm going to be too old to do it myself anyway.

@just4him Seems like there are always unexpected expenses when we move. I would rather have all my teeth pulled out than move again. I told hubby we will just have to bury me here. Over the year we moved ever 2-3 years with his job. Nice to sit still for a bit.

My son negated movinghelp dot com, so had to rely on what help I could get and hope for the best. It turned out we had an extra day to get it finished, or at least a few extra hours of the next day as the loan officer told the local real estate people I was dealing with for the house inspection that we had until the 31st instead of the 30th. So it was all done on time and didn't cost me as much as it would have with the moving company. They were expensive. I did pay everyone for their help and even provided lunch from Subway. I'm so glad it's all done now and all I need to do is unpack and get onto this new chapter in my life.

My son is with his girlfriend for now. He needs to have enough time off to get over here and put in his application for an apartment. I don't know about my grandson. He had a place, but it fell through because he didn't have the co-signer they needed since this is his first apartment ever. So not sure about him. I'm sure I'll find out as he and my son have the same class together at the college on Wednesday morning.

Good to see your day's been well! I went to college today, came back and studied a bit, went out with friends for a while and now I'm on the internet before I go to sleep. A pretty average, boring day.

I've been going to bed early most nights lately, but I'm getting up at strange hours as well with getting my son back to his girlfriend's and bringing the car back here to the apartment. I'll be glad when he's approved for an apartment here. Then I will get some good sleep again. He just needs the time to get here to put in the application.
