For Those About to Rock...

Although I am at a conference this week, and have a very busy schedule, I have freed up my schedule this afternoon and evening to leave the conference in Orlando and head to Ft. Lauderdale for the AC/DC concert tonight.
The original date of the concert was cancelled due to lead singer Brian Johnson leaving the band due to hearing issues. At the time, ticket holders were offered the chance to hold on to their tickets for the future rescheduled show, or get a full refund. I chose to hold onto my tickets.
I wasn't happy about the reschedule date (who schedules a concert on a Tuesday night?), but as a dedicated fan of the band, I have no plans to miss this show! I have never missed an AC/DC concert in Florida since 1983! Now that's dedication! lol
Any of you out there AC/DC fans?

The concert is actually in Sunrise, at the arena where the Florida Panthers NHL Hockey team plays. But Sunrise is close enough to Ft. Lauderdale to be considered part of Ft. Lauderdale! lol
The only bad part is that it is storming really bad there today due to the tropical system sitting out in the Gulf of Mexico. It's going to make the concert really interesting tonight, with all the heavy bands of rains moving through the area.

@LadyDuck We got really lucky with the weather! The drive down from Orlando to Ft. Lauderdale yesterday afternoon was horrible with all the torrential rain we had, but about 20 minutes before the start of the concert, the rains subsided, the skies cleared, and we were treated to an amazing sunset!

This is a band I've been following since I was a young kid in the 1970's. Although AC/DC might not be held in the same high esteem as bands like the Beatles, Elvis and the Rolling Stones, they have proven beyond a doubt that they have staying power in the music world. They have been playing sold out shows for over 43 years now, and their music has proven to be timeless!

Oh, I definitely enjoyed the concert last night! It was unbelievable! Can't believe guitarist Angus Young can still run around on that stage like he was still 20 years old!

They are a hard rock band from Australia. They have been around since 1973, and are still going strong! To this day, they still continue to sell out every one of their concerts around the world!

Not a big fan, and most of what I like by AC/DC goes back to the Bon Scott era.
There's a guy I play golf with named Brian Johnson, and I call him "Mr. AC/DC." 
BTW, I just got tickets today for a Dale Watson concert...and it's on a Tuesday night.

I am more of a fan of the Bon Scott era than the Brian Johnson era, so I really enjoy their old stuff. I actually met Brian Johnson once, he lives in Sarasota, FL, and also likes to race cars. I met him on a local race track when he was in town for a race.

I agree, it's hard to get people to attend a concert during weeknights. I think what messed up their scheduling so much was the fact that they had to cancel and then reschedule 10 shows. When they went to reschedule, they had to pretty much take what they could get in the venues where the shows were being held. A Tuesday night concert is not ideal, but unfortunately it's what we're stuck with. From what I heard, the show is still sold out for tonight.
