Another Client Has Passed

A few months ago, one of my clients had surgery. It would take 6-8 hours for the surgery to be completed. She was worried sick over it. We talked about it and I tried to get her to think positively about it.
The day of her surgery I was present to get her prepared. Packed her bag. Helped with her personal care. Tidied up her apartment.
She hugged me tightly and told me she loves me. Then she said she felt as if she would never see me again. I quickly told her that she would see me in a few weeks, once she had recovered she would be home.
I heard from her a week after the surgery. She was her old spunky self. Ready to get home. She sent me a few messages which were brief. Then I heard nothing from her.
Just recently I heard that she had passed away. Nobody knew of this. I guess only her family knew. There was no obituary. Not even the agency I work for knew of her passing. It broke my heart.
RIP my dear lady. I wish I could have been there for you.

@JudyEv I have attended a few, but one hit me hard. I still am not over losing her. One I did not attend because of car oroblems. I am glad I didn't. I would have lost it.

This client was in her 40s. I had heard elderly people proclaim that it would be their days were numbered, but never from someone so young.

What really stunned me was that he best friend whom she had known since childhood was not aware of her passing either.

I love my clients. It was easy for me to tell her that I loved her too.
