I need a little sunshine

Well its actually not me so much, as my plants.. They have been soaking in the rain and would like to have some reprieve I guess.. My dessert roses, (adeniums) succulents and cactus have been the worst hit since the rains began three months ago.. They were fine until the last few day, its been pouring by the buckets and I have lost a few plants already. I have had to move them in and out so many times in the day.. hoping to dry them out in the little sunshine we get when the sun does manage to wrestle its way through the clouds. I do like to watch the little droplets of water shimmer in the sun..the leaves look so fresh and green after the rains.. However they do seem to think they have had enough of this.. but I know we need more rains.. as we could easily be running out of ground water in a few years. Sometimes life seems like a huge dilemma, you seem to dislike the very thing you need. A good look at the bigger picture could put everything in the right perspective. Don't you think so?

It's like everyone with curly hair wants straight hair and vice versa. Succulents and cacti would be looking for some warmth I guess.

@JudyEv My hair has waves and I spend time every morning to straighten it. When it rains and the hair is humid the waves come back immediately.

@LadyDuck My hair was always so straight and I used to get cross at school-friends who had beautiful curls or waves and continually complained about it. :)

The succulent plants do not like rain, humans animals and the other plants need water. I have planted some succulent in the middle of rocks and gravel, the rain drains quickly and I do not need to move them in and out.

@LadyDuck I have only a container garden, even though the soils is well draining, cactus soil these plants can take rain only for sometime after which the begin to rot.. These are pretty expensive too. :(

Let's just always remember that just like marriage , life is not a bed of roses always . So, is it rainy days there since 3 months ? Gosh , here it's supposed to be wet season but after it would rain for a day or two it will again be so hot . Just like now .

@sofssu It is good for the plants when it rains everyday , though not those long hours of rain . Just those drizzle kinds are wonderful for the plants .

@SIMPLYD Yes they do love the light drizzles and the summer rains.. The other plants flourish and grow like crazy..

@SIMPLYD I do remember that... but they like interludes when there is sunshine and rainbows lOl. The first two months were fine.. but I guess this month has been bad for them.. they other plants seem to be doing okay.

@crazyhorseladycx I guess we appreciate the rain more when we have been through periods of drought.. Thankfully we do not have drought here.. but the summer heat certainly dries up all water sources we just about manage in some years.. but not as bad as a drought situation.

Isn't that the truth. I have been on the phone all morning just trying to find transportation. What a hassle. Hope you plants are alright. We are in the opposite situation. We have had a fire here since early August. Now we can't afford any rain because there is nothing to hold it and the flash floods could be a real problem.

@much2say How I wish we could evenly distribute rain.. It often seems like there is a little bit of too much of one thing in some parts of the world.

@andriaperry Actually they do well with rain water than normal watering and yet excess of the same good thing spells doom to them.

@jaboUK I wish I could send some rain to some parts of the world which really needs it.. the problem is we have no proper rain water saving system and we the water table goes down lower and lower each year.
