Fall Fever? Not Really!

There's no denying the Fall season is here and it has real charm in the USA, Canada and in Europe. Leaves change and turn to yellow and burnished red, the air chills at night, people have bonfires and eat chestnuts. But there's one thing wrong with Fall as far as I'm concerned- and it's called- Winter!
In many parts of the above countries but especially in Canada, the Northern States and Northern Europe- we get Winter. Winter may look nice on a postcard or calendar but I'm not a fan. Boots, mitts, hats, heavy coats and slippery, treacherous roads are not a few of my "favourite things".
Okay, I do love Christmas but after December 25th we are just left with Winter. Sorry folks, for this grim reminder, but I will leave with good news- after Winter comes Spring! And we do have October- my second favourite month! Can you guess my first? lol!

probably December and Christmas Im in Southern California and its 100 F outside
right now here in /Garden Grove so hoping for a little cooler weatjer sto;; jate cp;d amd womters jere are a l;pt better than in ?South Dalota lol lol lol

Maybe May, it is a lovely month here. Winter is why we have snowbirds, there is nothing quite as nice as saying goodbye to winter for a few months or even weeks.

I must admit I like autumn and winter...but that said, ours are not as severe as yours..., so I understand what you are saying... and 'feel for you'

Yes, I wish I could afford to go south into the warmer US States during the Winter- and be 'by the Sea' for a few months- lol!

Not a clue on your first favorite month of the year. I'd say maybe April, but depending on when spring hits your neighborhood might determine the month you're talking about. I detest winter too and as we get older we have to be more careful with walking on icy roads, not a pleasant thought.
I'm also the main snow removal person in our household since my husband got his prosthetic eight years ago. I've done my time as far as I'm concerned. At least we have a snow blower and he has helped a few times when I was overworked, but overall it's on me.

That's another reason I am not big on winter- life just gets a little harder. Snow can be pretty when it first falls but once is enough for me! lol! And yes April and May are both about my fave month- I will enjoy October for the lovely month it is with leaves turning, etc. but then I'm on a wishing process, especially after Christmas, for Spring.

June? I like Fall but LOVE winter. It's my favorite season of the year. Summer is my least favorite. So December is my favorite month. I love Christmas and all the decorations. Fall is okay because the temps are cooling off from summer's heat.

Autumn is my favourite time of year. I agree with you winter looks pretty...but in many ways it sucks. I would like it much better if neither my family , friends nor myself had to go out in wintry weather. Last winter my daughter had a serious accident when she hit black ice...totalled her SUV, but had no serious injuries. A month later my son inlaw his black ice on a different section of the QEW and totalled his BMW. Again no injuries....both accidents closed down a section of the QEW for at least 30 minutes. Yeah, I hate winter.

That's what I mean and I'm near Toronto so will be getting about the same weather as you- I need to afford to be a snow bird- taht would definitely help---lol!

You can see plenty of gorgeous fall photos and it is really how it looks but not everyone has the reds and oranges that we get in the North here. many just have yellow- not as spectacular! And yes April, May are my fave months!
