My Things Are Escaping Through The Black Hole

I think my belongings are escaping through the black hole in space. You know, the black hole that lets one sock through when you are washing a pair. It is so distressing to find only one sock when you know you put in two. Well, it's not just socks, it's cans of soup, shorts, tools, and I don'[t know what all. Things just seem to be disappearing into thin air or into that black hole I mentioned. Somewhere on the other side of that hole is someone wondering just where all this stuff came from. I can imagine them standing in the middle of the kitchen wondering just where that can of soup came from. Could it be that I am misplacing things? I hope not. The mind is the first thing to go, you know. Do you find yourself missing things you thought you had?

I imagine you can ask hubby bout some of that but as for me I tried askin the kritters but they gave me that "I'm dumb and stickin to it" look. I'll probably find some of the MIAs next week and lose something else ..... I really hate when I try to put stuff in a safe place

You know, it's when you put them in a safe place that you lose them. I guess the safe place is so safe that even you don't know where they are.

@princemaxp I see, if it were a mouse a cat certainly would help.

Do you have a passed relative with a strange sense of humor perhaps? I don't misplace things.

Maybe that's it. My Uncle Max loved to play tricks on us.

No, it is rare that I misplace something. The only thing that I remember losing (in a move) was a nice print that we had framed. I have the feeling that it was left in the moving truck.

It could be displayed nicely in someone elses home. I am sorry it has been lost to you.

I have a theory that the odd socks turn into wire coat-hangers - but it's only a theory. :)

@HazySue Because they seem to multiply as fast as the socks disappear - although now Vince has stopped work and we rarely have things dry-cleaned the problem is disappearing.

@JudyEv True, I remember our dry cleaning days, we always ended up with an overabundance of wire hangers.

At times all of us feel to have entered a black hole... When we are disoriented and cannot focus I think it is a common human phenomenon and happens with everyone

it does happen from time to time. I can remember my aunt saying :Well, another thing disappeared into the black hole" and laughing.

Yes, but in my case it's because I'm not that organized. There are specific things, like my camera, that I lose over and over again. I always think I put it in my cubby and then discover it somewhere else. So with me, it's absent mindedness for sure.

I am pretty organized. Well, sort of anyway. I keep all my canned good on certain shelves and all my shorts in a certain drawer. I wonder if these things are just growing legs and walking away?

That's kind of how I feel when I find myself driving downtown in a larger city not too far from us. It's like the Bermuda Triangle. I can never find my way out. Well, obviously I eventually do. It was so funny to think of the person on the other side of your black hole who finds your missing stuff!

I know what you mean - I am directionally challenged. Somebody has my stuff.
