Any of you remember Mary Quant, the miniskirt and Carnaby Street?

I just read a post about two ladies in heavy coats strolling near the seaside. They were pictures from the 60s.
I want to remind all of you old enough to remember that the 60s were the time of Mary Quant, The Beatles, mini skirts, flip-flops and a complete change in colour in dressing.
We used daisy prints, usually red, white and blue. Our shoes had different colours too. Models were thin (remember Twiggy?).
And let´s not forget the change in music. What do you remember of it? I am not ashamed of my past and I´m sure it was better than this one in some ways.

First I've heard of Mary Quant but the rest is familiar, we got the miniskirt here in El Paso in the late 1960s, hotpants in the early 1970s and of course The Beatles were my favorites from 1965 forward, before the Beatles I can't even recall liking music.
I also fell into that era of hippies, we wanted to go back to nature and in my case I was pro Native American as were quite a few others. Funny how so much of that has been forgotten
Just thought I'd mention that the miniskirt was actually first contrived in the roaring twenties but that not what they all those dresses back then.
And, like the miniskirt, not all women wore them.

I know that. It seems that skirts go up when women have something to say. As for Mary Quant, Queen Elizabeth II made her a Dame as she did with The Beatles who became Sirs.

She's a kool Queen @marguicha but I haven't a clue what either a Dame or a Sir is as far as rank is concerned.

@marguicha I'm on a roll, this was too fun and funny not to share
A bit about the 1920s... -The Economy was booming- living standards and spending rose. -They were a time of relief after the devastation of WW1, peace, relax...

I was born in 1960 so I do remember the latter part of the decade a little bit.
I remember Twiggy but whether I remember her in the 60,s or 70,s I am not sure.
The 60,s for me were about school and TV shows like star trek and Dr who.
Oh and Celtic winning the European Cup in 67. Got to watch the game on the telly. I remember that.

As I was 15 in 1960, my memories were very clear. I actually HAD to wear all those clothes.

I bet you were pretty and chic.
My mum was about the same age as you in 1960. Not much older. I have seen the photos. I looked a right wee cherub.

@saulgoodman In fact, I was quite pretty until a few years ago when I had chemo for cancer. And I dressed up nicely as I was not overweighed.
