We got cut then shot this morning

It's been a fun morning. This afternoon will be better a fair weather day for sure.
First off we got cut - we both got haircuts. We go to the same place for several reasons, one of which is that the female beauticians in this town give far better haircuts then the one and only barber.
Then we got shot - at the doctor's office. We got our flu shots. I know many of you don't believe in that, but we do and with my asthma and bronchial problems I will take a flu shot over the flu any day.
My husband is now preparing the pool to close tomorrow. So today is Ruby's last swim. It is a beautiful day, sunny and warm, not a cloud in the sky.
We are still getting a ton of lettuce from the garden, unfortunately we now have to buy tomatoes...bah humbug.

I have a lot of green tomatoes for you!! By the time I sent them to you , they would be ripe!! We had a deep freeze last night. Suppose to be nice again!!

We pulled our tomato plants a few weeks back. Freeeze..burr, it was in 60's last night, 87 right now.

Yes, it is always sad when the last garden tomato has been eaten for the season. Store bought tomatoes are good but not quite as tasty and special than garden ones.

Lower water level below skimmer
Take out railings
Add specific chemicals
Use air compressor to blow air/water out of the lines (so they don't freeze)
cover the pool
Watch Ruby cry, and me too.
Once it is covered she won't even look at it - if her tennis ball goes on the cover she won't go get it. She literally 'pretends' it doesn't exist.

It's really strong winds now and raining. It hasn't hit us quite yet though. It should really be here in half an hour.

I didn't even feel it - seriously, our doc's nurses give really good shots...no pain at all.

Yes, today my husband has to put in the winterizing chemicals and let them 'do their thing' then tomorrow it will get covered and we will have a dry dog for a change until next April LOL.

The lettuce (which is my husband's favorite) will last until the first hard frost. Still a few green beans here and there but I think I've had my fill of them for the season LOL.
