Going Engagement Ring Shopping/Browsing!

Next step in our relationship -
We are going to go shopping/browsing for my engagement ring / ring settings and his band soon! I am very excited, but I am not going to rush things if I don't find the 'perfect' ring for me the first time around! We have plenty of time to shop!
I originally wanted a halo setting but in the past - the jewelers said it's a distraction to the actual diamond itself.
I do want simple too, I sort of a simple 6 prong setting with an infinity band intervened if that makes sense. I don't have a set vision of what I want yet, because there is so much selection!
I will shop with an open mind!

@infatuatedbby Just the engagement ring from first marriage...I sold the band. I have my grandmother's, my first one and my current one.

Congratulations! That is so exciting. My fiance picked out my ring last Christmas and it was perfect for me. I love it. I even cried when he gave it to me. I wasn't expecting it at all. It was a total surprise. I hope you find exactly what you are looking for.

Well technically we decided on ourselves to take the next step
We aren't very 'surprise-y' type of people, lol! In fact we hate surprises, lol!
We will have our engagement party February 2017, that'll be a decade of us dating! Thank you I managed to find a simple ring I like. It looks the same as my current ring, but a bigger diamond and a little bit more diamonds on the band and in 18k white gold instead.

Yes of course.
I stuck with simple instead of 'trendy' originally I wanted an infinity band style but I don't like it because its not comfortable. I found a style I want but it needs to be custom ordered.

Hehe that is beautiful your sons went for 6 prong like their dad did! And nice they designed theirs and the other went for perfection!
I went to go look at ring settings and my mom has the 6 prong which I want, but now they're saying it depends on the my preference. The jewelers I went to said the 6 prong does not necessarily hold the ring better than the 4 , as the 4 is just as sturdy/durable but some people like the look of the 6 prong. But 4 / 6 is fine regardless =)
Most of the settings I found, are 4 and 6 so I am still indecisive :)

@infatuatedbby I've caught a prong on something which pulled it away from the diamond. My jeweler told me that I was a lucky lady that the other prongs held my stone in place. He repaired it free of charge and shined it up. My ring is insured, but I certainly don't want to lose that stone!

I changed my mind for the the infinity band style because I was thinking its just the trend right now but what about a few years down the line so now I'm looking for a simple, classic look.

Yes, I love shopping.
The one above I've been wearing it for a while. The engagement ring will be wearing it at the engagement party in February. I ordered the ring setting band and selected a diamond.
It will take 2-3 more weeks.
