And The Bills Come Rolling In

As you know I received a dislocated shoulder on October 6th. Now the bills are starting to roll in. The ER visit cost well over $3,000.00! That morphine was expensive! The Paramedics cost nearly $900. The x-rays were about $150.00. And I haven't gotten the MRI bill or the orthopedic surgeon's yet. I only have to pay a small portion of these adding up to about $400 all together. So not bad. We'll see how much the surgeon wants to charge me for the less than ten minute office visit and sending me off to get an MRI. Also curious what the closed MRI will end up charging me. And then you call these places and they don't want to work with you very badly. I tell what I can do and they tell me I have two options. Well, thank you very much!

@celticeagle no one has that kind of money in his pocket, specially if one is ill.

Yes, I have heard that England and Canada have good health programs. What's wrong with America?

@Asylum ....I find the Abama care a rather comical situation. Good that you have what you have.

Pay what you can and don't worry about it. Eventually, it will get paid.

But, I fear I may need their services again and if I am late with payment they may get nasty about it.

It sure is. I was there for about four hours as I recall.

The ER is an evil evil thing. When I had my blood clots, already had all the bills for the hospital visit, but a few months ago I got the bill from the actual ER visit, 200 for the CAT scan and 100 dollars for something else. Even pain killers are pricey. It is terrible. I hope you can find a way for a payment plan or something.

Just a percentage. I am so glad too. I'd be paying it for the rest of my days.

you have more than they will admit, you can send them a dollar if you have too, you can also demand itemized bills to be sure there arent charges on there that dont apply

I always think of the scene in Murphy's Romance when she is in the hospital. They do charge so much for everything.

That's so scary. I swear I will drive myself to the ER when having a heart attack rather than insane paramedic bill.
