Oops I guess we won't all be happy at the end of the day can't wait to see the end of this nasty election. .
My vote was in the mail a long time ago so I don't have to do that today
I'll be spending at least an hour with my surgeon with more x-rays of my knee and hope he says the surgery will be in January.
Last week I got my flu shot and my shingles vaccine so I think I'm good for the winter...
Both arms are still touchy. I woke up during the night when I rolled over onto my right arm - ouch
I love Fall, the colors are wonderful but the leaves are dropping too fast. I wish the color could stay and the snow stay away but that isn't going to happen.
I better get going, Its going to be a busy day.
How about you?
The photo is a Pear Orchard up on the mountain overlooking Lake Ontario on a gorgeous Fall day. (and its my photo)

@PainsOnSlate That's what I'm doing. Some people are protesting? Protesting what? This is our political system at work. I find it fascinating that nearly half of our citizens are that angry. Angry at what?

@PainsOnSlate Actually, I correct myself. More than half of our citizens are angry. Some supposed Hillary supporters are setting fires and breaking windows in Oakland.

Thank you, for both... a friend called and told me about the orchard. Usually pear leaves just drop with no color so this color was unusual.

@PainsOnSlate I know ornamental pears have gorgeous colors but you are right, my fruiting pear never did.

@GardenGerty I was surprised to see the color, we had a pear orchard when I was a kid and no color at all in the fall.

Shingles is a blistery rash and the only ones who can get it is those who had chicken pox as children. Once you have shingles its suggested you get the shot so it can't come back. Glad you liked the photo.

hope ya got a date set, hon. i'd be most anxious myself if'n i t'was facin' such. i early voted, which t'was a good thingy coz today's not been too kind 'n i'd ne'er made 't to town to do such.
ick'n those vaccinations :( i've foregone gettin' those fer some years myself, got outta the habit i reckon with all the health hiccups'n the docs not agreein' which ones'd do me more harm.
those leaves're jest beautiful :) 'tis hard to find 'em still clingin' to the trees here. those that remain 're mostly still vivid green, though the yard 'tis littered with thousands 'pon thousands 'f maple leaves. kinda makes ya wonder where they came from? since the trees 're still full.
big hugs!

Thanks for your kind words, unfortunately I still don't have a date. I want it done in Jan or Feb so I will be back in shape for camping next summer. He isn't sure he can do it but he can find someone who will, but I really want him to do it so I might wait until after camping...I know that sounds crazy but I don't want to give up camping.

@TheHorse It takes 4 months of physical Therapy to get your mobility back and it works, If you don't do the therapy you don't get the mobility 100% back. I was camping the week I got out of therapy with the permission of my therapist - her only warning was to buy some walking sticks and use them when on uneven land. They worked like a charm and I still use them when hiking. My 6 year old knee is perfect, The only difference from before and after is there is NO PAIN. Its wonderful magic.

I was avoiding it because it cost an outrageous amount of money but this year it was free because of my birth year. I had shingles once and that was enough, I was grateful to get the shot for free. I grew up in an orchard of apples and pears, and I agree, these in the photo are old.

@PainsOnSlate It's free here now once you turn 70 I think. Ours might have been covered by our health insurance fund.

Once the polls close, I will check in periodically to see who is leading. All day I want to avoid listening to them talk about it. I hope it is won by a landslide so people can see that a clear decision was made. Of course I hope Hillary wins.
I will have to see the specialist about my knee soon. I put it off when the Dr. was going to send me, but now I am thinking I should at least learn how to not make things worse.

The surgery is easy and fast, a couple of days in hospital to get used to your new knee and learning how to move with it, the therapy is the important part after you are home. You must do the therapy to get your mobility back. I went to a therapy attached to a hospital three days a week. And I had exercises to do at home too. I've run into too many who had the surgery and didn't do the therapy and are very unhappy with their leg. The ones I talked to went back to work and didn't take the time to do the exercises... I did meet one woman who just used her home gym bike and got her mobility faster than I did.... but then she was younger than I was too...

It isn't scheduled yet sadly, i'd like to know for sure when it will happen. I'm surprised you have never seen a pear orchard, but then I live in the fruit belt of Ontario so we have all the fruits.

I though I was too old too but it was free for those born in 1945. I think the flue shot is the most important. Glad you got yours.
