Woot! My Car is Going Again

After almost 2 years of sitting in the driveway, I'm finally able to drive my car again!! It's a shame that it's sat in the driveway that long. No one wanting to take the time to really figure out what was wrong with it. Yes, a few times my hubby looked at it as well as my son did. Even @GardenGerty's hubby looked at it. What a shame that it took my brother calling to say he wanted to check out my car to finally motivate my husband to go out and get it done. My brother heard that I have a rod going out in the engine of my van so he called and said he wanted to come over and check out the car. All it needed was a stinking $12 part. Of course it wasn't that easy though. My husband and son had to take something else off to get to where the part had to be replaced. That part ended up breaking which costs another $76. Then there was re-tagging it after 2 years....and buying anti-freeze for it.....and, of course, a new battery since the one in it was long dead. I'm thrilled to be driving it again though!! It won't take long to save in gasoline alone what the total was to get it going over the gas it takes in the 15 passenger van. Have you had a woot moment lately?

It's good that your brother was capable to find the problem. It surely would have costed a fortune if it was done by a professional.

He didn't find it, he just wanted to see it...him coming over prompted hubby to finally decide to do something about it after 2 years.

I'm so glad your car is operational again. That's a great WOOT! My only great recent woot would be my vacation last month. We had a good time and hoping to do it again next year.

What a blessing. My sister said Medicare would pay for a walker like that if she did the paperwork, but a friend had three and sold her one for $25.

Those walkers really are nice for sure. One lady bowls with hers...she has a ball holder on a string that she sets her bowling ball on until she walks up to the line to throw it. She doesn't bowl well, but it does my heart good to see that she's not given up something that she loves.

So glad to hear that you have your car running again. I hope you have no more problems for a long time to come. No woot moment, just getting the MRI done yesterday. After trying three times.

It's an older car but has some cool features I missed like the channel finder and volume control for the stereo on the steering wheel. Now I need to figure out where I put the cassette tapes since it has a cassette stereo LOL

Not that is coming to mind at this minute. Any time you need something checked for free Auto Zone and O'Reiley's are both great, always hoping to make a sale of something to repair it of course.

It was O'Reillys that told me it's a rod going out in the van when mom and I stopped to have them check the oil if it was gone again.

I am Wooting! for you. Congrats. Glad it was not that expensive. The Jeep needs some work and I am praying that it does not cost much to get it taken care of.

tootling around....in my van $10 in gas barely moves the gas guage, as you can imagine. $10 in the car took it to half a tank yesterday with what was already in it.
