To get $3 back.. or not... I decided to get my $3 back! =)

What to eat for lunch? ....Finally, we settled with Rubio’s because it was nearby & convenient. I checked my email to see if I received any deals/promotions & they had a $3 off any 2 entrees coupon which was perfect! Off to Rubio’s we went! I had in mind $16 for lunch (Steak Guacamole Burrito for me & my boyfriend got the Langostino Lobster Burrito) so when we paid the cashier told me our total was $19 & change. I asked her even with the coupon, She said yes, so we proceeded to pay thinking the prices must have gone up! We found a table & I looked over the receipt.. she didn’t input the correct coupon so we ended up not saving any money! When the food came out, I told the person the coupon wasn’t deducted & she told me after I’m done eating her manager will refund us the difference. Do you check your receipts after you make purchases? If so, at what price would you go back and get your money? For $3 bucks, I will get my money back plus I didn't have to stand back in line either. By the time my boyfriend cleared our tray & cleaned our table, I got our money back then we left.

Well, not always. But we should always check the receipts and the change.

Yes, we should. :) I once gave a girl $20 for amount of $10, she didn't give me back change. I told her I handed her a $20 and she looked back and it was laying on her cashier draw of $20. -_-

People in these fast food places aren't taught to their job. And, they don't really care if they do a good job our not now days. Really sad. I think that that Langostino Lobster Burrito really sounds good. I love fish and seafood.

The price sounded high since I already estimated the cost, even asked her & she said yeah so I trusted her. But later found it she didnt' even deduct anything! If I had not seen the coupon in my email, I wouldn't mind.. being charged full price

@celticeagle Yes! Today I went to the mall and bought an electric kettle it was $80 on sale for $49.99 and I had a $20 off $50 coupon so I bought a chocolate bar for $3 and saved $20 :)

If the bill is not correct, I will ask them to return me the money. I don't feel embarrassed to it.

@infatuatedbby It is their mistake and therefore I will not feel shy to say so. In fact sometimes it is like a cheating in my opinion.

@youless Yes ~ I totally agree with you.. It is like cheating & imagine how many people they cheated. I asked the cashier even with the coupon that is my total? She said yes.. so I paid it knowing it was off. Then I looked at the receipt & I was right. It did show $1 off (she inputted the wrong coupon code) but since I didn't even purchase the item she inputted, it didn't even work so it shows - $1 off coupon and it deducted nothing $0.. So I paid full price. & I did get my money back afterwards =)

Heck yes! For $3 you can see me standing in line waiting for a bit to get my money back! (I'm not considered cheap, but if being called cheap gets me $3, I will peep like a birdie!)

Yes $3 is quite a lot =) I related it to.. how long would it take me to earn $3 on myLot so money back it was! And I ended up not even getting 'any' discount! Though the receipt did say - $1 because she inputed the wrong coupon and it deducted $0 because I didn't buy the correct item that coupon was for...

@DaddyEvil yep now I compare to mylot. Before I didn't think like that. So money does add up! Not being cheap but money doesn't grow on trees :)

@infatuatedbby Hmmm... I just hit... $5.2948, so it takes me about 10 days to hit $3 on myLot. I agree, it takes much too much effort to get the $3 when it is looked at like that! I would want my $3 back, too!

Yes it's good to double check :) Is it common to use coupons there? I think Canada doesn't have coupons often

@infatuatedbby We have no coupons for the restaurants, only the local McDonalds distribute coupons. It is common to use coupons in the grocery stores.

I always check my receipt immediately as soon as the cashier hands it to me. They are always messing up the purchases. It just happened to me on Saturday, I bought three shirts for me and the kids for the Gator football game, and when she rang up the purchases, it seemed a little high. So when I looked at the receipt, sure enough she charged me for 4 shirts and not three. I'm glad I checked before I left the store, because on a football game day, it would have been a royal pain in the butt to have to go back and try to get a refund later.

I am glad you checked the receipt & got your money back right then and there.. At a later time I think it'd be quite the hassle. Now a days I find more mistakes. Imagine they do that to most people.. how many actually speak up or saying anything.. Later when they're found overcharging they pay back the government not the people !! So we should get our money back =)

I never check the receipt. My girlfriend does. I did check it when I bought my snowboard, however. Glad I did, because they charged me twice.
