Last night on my way home, I passed by a department store. And they had a promotion to stainless steel pans in the first floor. I glanced at it and hard to believe that the pans cost about $175/piece. That's quite expensive. Perhaps it is good enough for me to buy a plain gold pan already I wonder whether they can be sold. But crazy people are always avaiable. They may make super delicious steak with that pan for sure

Well, I bought stainless steel pans and pots when i got married 45 years ago, it is true they were expensive, I still have them and use them every day and they are like new. The few non sticky pans that I bought never lasted more than three or four years. The food is a lot better made in a stainless steel pan and in a non sticky one.

@youless Yes, but in the long run you spend no more money because they last for life.

Sometimes it is hard to believe that a simple thing can cost so much. You could buy a dozen cheap ones for the cost of one fancy one.

You are quite right. This is why I wonder whether it provides some magic features.

Judy the good stainless steel pans, who have a triple bottom with copper in the middle are expensive, but the quality is incredible. I still use those I bought 45 years ago.

@LadyDuck That is good to know. You sometimes wonder just how good they are but to hear a first-hand commendation for them is very useful.

I agree with Anna a quality pan is worth the money. My good pans cook evenly and use them more than the so called non stick, which has chipped and food sticks to them. Its important that my family is happy with dinner and not running to the neighbors.

Perhaps I should just buy it and then leave expensive houseware to my child
