A raccoon out in the full super moon

Pretty sure the only thing Rocky thinks about the 'supermoon' is "It sure is easy to see the corn tonight".
He was out front yesterday too, but I didn't get photos quite as good as I did today.
Not sure how much he'll be around this winter...raccoons don't really hibernate, but they've been known to stay in the den for a few weeks at a time during the winter.
We'll just have to wait and see...I'm sure Scar will miss him if he stops showing up.

Nice picture of Rocky. I don't blame the raccoons for staying indoors in the cold weather but I'm sure they take advantage of any warmer spell in the winter. They are such attractive looking animals it's a little surprising that more people don't keep them as pets but I'm sure that there are major difficulties, otherwise we'd have them here.

They do make fairly good pets, but I think most people are a bit intimidated about keeping a 'wild' animal.

I've got a handful that come here, Rocky is the only one that will let me walk up about 4-5 feet away to take a photo.

He's out here quite often, but when it starts getting really cold even my squirrels aren't as active.

Scar tries to play, Rocky just gives him this "What are you doing fool?" look and goes back to eating.

We see raccoons in the winter. Just not as often. Great picture.
