Your Car Knows

Your car knows and so does your house. If you think you just might be getting ahead money wise. Your car or your house will need something expensive. Hubby is getting new front tires for the truck today. He says the cords are showing on one tire. The more cars you have, the more likely this is to happen. The house needs some plumbing work, if we can find someone to do it. They are all incredibly busy this time of year. Of course these emergencies are exactly the reason I went back to work.

It is amazing the number of times we've had a small windfall then suddenly had an unexpected expense for almost the exact amount of the windfall.

Oh how true this is. Something always seems to happen. The rainy day fund is always needed around here. Sending you positive thoughts.

It turns out the problem is much more than we thought, and will cost tons, if we can even find all the right parts, however, it may also be leading to a blessing in disguise. I will post more later as I know about it.

Yep, always the way. We spent most of our summer going on trips, which I loved because we've never really been able to do that before.. but it seems each time we got back from a trip something would go wrong. The animals have been sick, he needed to replace the radiator in his car, I needed brakes, my son wrecked his car, I got into an accident myself... We're done with trips till April, and I'm going to spend the time in between paying off all our credit cards because we had to max them all out to pay for all these things that kept going wrong (because I just couldn't cancel the trips we'd planned!)

The trips sound fun, the disasters not so much. There is more going on with my truck, I posted, but more has been found since then. I had to miss work yesterday because I was on the side of the road waiting for a wrecker.

Those kind of repairs come in twos or threes and at the wrong time. We were lucky enough this time to get all fixed and which is not always the case.

Well, that was yesterday, then today I had a problem on the road. Another repair that will be even more than the tire.

Moral of the story. Never talk about it in the presence of your house and car. Walls have ears you know

I talk to our Car but not out loud of course. I say nice things to it. Sometimes it might be a bit gruff and grouchy but then that is our Car he brought us right from the other side of Spain. I love my Car.

Yes, many people find that expenses rise to meet income, and we try to cut back in other places.

That's why I always keep an emergency fund - there's often some unexpected expense.

We call it Even Steven. When we have a windfall, something goes wrong, and there goes the windfall.

Isn't that the truth. The moment you think you can get ahead is the moment something needs replacing, repaired, or just plain old destroyed.

Yes it always seems to go that way. You never can get ahead it seems!
