Love Knows No Color

I spent many years teaching my girls that there is no color, race, religion, disability or anything thing else involved when it comes to loving another person.
I must say that they learned their lessons well. When it comes to human kindness and loving your fellow man there is no difference between us. It is the inside that counts, not the skin covering your body, your beliefs, or your shortcomings.
When I was in the classroom guiding and teaching children I tried to do the same thing. It was quite as successful as it was when I did it at home but still, I tried to do my part.
I truly believe that we are all the same under our skin. I think if we could all treat each other with respect and a whole lot less judgment we would have a happier world.
The golden rule is one I always tried to live by. What do you think? Wouldn't it be nice if everyone in this world of ours could just get along?
Why am I focused on this right now? It seems as though every time I turn on the TV I hear hate, violence, and prejudice.

I remember that one of the shows I most loved at Disney was one of dolls from different places in the world.

The golden rule is a very important one and a favorite of mine as well. Some people are just so very passionate about their beliefs and the way they think that things should be it is strange. I don't necessarily think we all have to agree but just be civil and respectful. There have been some sweet stories in the news the last few days and I am thankful for that.

I agree completely but sometimes I don't think the human race has progressed very far in combating prejudice, hate and violence. At times, it seems there is even more around but I guess that's because we are continually bombarded with examples through the media.
