Still No Luck

I had talked before about my husband becoming unemployed in August this year. Since then he has been applying to many places, none of which seem to be interested in hiring him seeing as he has not gotten a call from any of them. A few days ago my father in law gave my husband 2 flyers for jobs in law enforcement. One I believe was to become a sheriff deputy. The other was to be a prison guard. My husband isn't really interested in going in to that field of work but with our finances dwindling, he doesn't really have a choice. I pray he decides to apply for at least one of the jobs because it has benefits along with better pay than when he delivered pizza, at least I think. What does one do when they can't manage to get a call back? Have you ever been in such a predicament? I am wondering if I should try to get a job. I have no experience what so ever and I would need a ride to my job until I get my license if I did get one. It would be a little hard to have a job and do classes full time and manage to some how get some child care, although if i get a job and my husband still doesn't have one then I dont have to worry as much.

I hope he at least does the law enforcement thing until he finds something else he wants to do. Any money is better than no money.

Law enforcement is not a bad job though. Sense of responsibility with social welfare are its best part. Persuade him for the same. U get to earn money with respect & honour in uniform.

What kind of work?Has he thought of any job evenfast food?. I know many tend to stay within the field and not widen their search. My friend husband has been out of work for almost 6months yet he wont work for anything under $20.Yet, most work places want the cheap of the cheapest.

@IvySaysHi I always find if you take a low paying job most places will hire you. If they see your not working its hard.I have only ever had 3 months off work when I was laid off 2 jobs in 2 week time. It was hard to find a job so I took a low paying job at a coffee shop then I got loads of offers.

Maybe your husband could look into the jobs as deputy or prison guard. He might find that it's a job he might enjoy even though he never considered it before. It has to be frustrating not to be able to find a job. I wish you all the best

This is a real dilemma. It can sometimes be really hard to break into the work force. Once you're there you can always look for something else.

Becoming a sheriff deputy doesn't seems to be a bad job. Anyway, if he gets too picky about jobs, it may end up having none. It's better to choose a good one while he's still young and able.

One always faces job vacuum in his/her life. So don't get disheartened by failure of repeated efforts. Keep trying as "Try is the best limit". You can also try for part time jobs adhering to child's timings. By the time you go to part time job, your hubby can take care of child for few hours. Meanwhile your hubby's efforts for job shall also materialize. Have faith in God, he always stabilize the times but patience & try is the key.
