Bootleg Thanksgiving

My nephew named the day after Thanksgiving. It occurs every other year when my sons attend their better halves' Thanksgivings, at their parents' or relatives homes. Thus dinner without turkey here. I've been cooking like a lunatic! My new family room will be where we will have drinks and nibbles. It has no area rug to dirty, no new lamps, and no window treatments, yet, but the chandelier is up and working. Don't feel bad for me. This year we have been invited to our son's fiancée's aunt's home on Thanksgiving, where we will stuff ourselves with turkey and all the trimmings. Afterall, we are family. I will be busy tomorrow anticipating the arrival of my son, his wife, and my pipsqueaks for dinner and overnight visit before they head off to her parents. I want to wish all my American friends a very happy and thankful Thanksgiving! Let's all count our many blessings.

@infatuatedbby I guess you can say that! Lol! It's been a rather long, dull, many months of being stuck in the house.

I love your family room, it's like a sun room. Why ruin it with window treatments?

Perhaps you could have them put some of that film that has light filters to it with a UV protectant @DianneN we do that here where the sun is extremely strong.

@rebelann One of the decorators mentioned something similar. I can't even think that far ahead right now. Thanks for mentioning that.

Thank you! We need to protect the furniture and filter out some of that strong sun. We will have shades and some valences and other light touches of fabric as far as I know. I have two different decorators coming up with ideas. They have all winter to think about it. Lol!

@DianneN Yes, we have been a full afternoon without Internet. They had to perform some changes on the existing installations and they were obliged to cut all the area for a few hours. Now it's fixed and the new fiber optic line is faster.

@LadyDuck Glad it wasn't too long. We are still waiting for the fiber optic lines to reach us. Right now we are paying for ultra fast internet, because I don't have the time or patience for slow! Enjoy it!

Thank you so much, Anna. I have not been here much for over one week due to all the dinners and company we have had. I'm plain exhausted today, but we had a wonderful time! Thanks for stopping by. I recently saw that you were without internet.

@PainsOnSlate Football is always on at our house during Thanksgiving. All the guys are big fans. Although we had Thanksgiving dinner elsewhere this year, the games were on. My hubby's job is vacuuming and cleaning up.
