Why, oh Why?

Skimming Facebook this afternoon I came across a post someone had shared.
I read the post and was immediately skeptical.
The woman who had shared it is well educated. How could she pass this bit of misinformation along.
This one didn't even need research. December always has 31 days....
Christmas Day falls on a Sunday usually at least once every 7-14 years.
Why would anyone believe it has been over 800 years since we had five weekends in December?
Not to mention, this December does not have 5 Sunday's or 5 Monday's..
Some people should look at the calendar.

Alot of people will post things and never check to see if they are true.

It does make them look like fools. If I'm going to share something, I like to fact check it first.

That is quite upsetting. If the person reading this is not careful, he or she will be easily deceived. I do hate chain messages too especially those that leaves bad luck once the reader did not spread that message. Whenever I received such message, I no longer forward it to my friends.

Change letters, emails etcetera, are automatically deleted.

I don't share things like this. This one was so obviously, glaringly wrong I was appalled that a mature, well educated, normally rational woman would pass this along.

I try to fact check before forwarding something like this....it means I don't share many quotes.

It took but a moment to check this for accuracy. It failed.

I don't take much heed in these "good luck" posts. I also don't care for posts that have pictures with words that have spelling errors. Sometimes I would like to share the message but won't if it's got spelling errors. It would make ME look stupid.

Anything that gives me a time limit to share gets an immediate pass. Greed seems to make people blind to fact.

I don´t spend my time reading that kind of nonsense. And I also know that money will come if you work and will not come if you sit waiting for it, whatever the special calendar.
The only time I indulge in such writings is when I go to a hairdresser. And I wonder why is it that woman´s magazines are so full of that!

@Morleyhunt I wonder if there are men´s magazines as stupid as those.
And I´d like to know what do they have in common.

You're right. Those women's magazines share such drivel.i should be able to lose weight, get rich and look 20 years younger if I would only send money for their magic formula. Sorry. I'm not that stupid.

Someone was sharing something similar last year, it read that the instances of 5 fridays and saturdays only happened every 823 years which is also bull kadunk. People don't think and just start sharing for the sake of sharing.

I just laughed @Morleyhunt I know the person who sent it and she's the type that shares everything she gets with all her friends, I doubt she did little more than go "OHHH" as she hit the share button.

I wonder if those who share this garbage realize just how foolish it makes them look. It also makes everything else so much less credible.

Crazy, I wonder if you could fact check that...often on Facebook I find a lot of untruth.

No fact checker needed. I just looked at my calendar.

It is amazing how this stuff gets passed around when anyone with half a brain can see the holes in the information.

The mention of acquiring some money seems to blind them to all the inaccuracies.

Like you, having my inbox clogged with such foolishness annoys me. When someone repeatedly shares this stuff I block notification from them.

Look at a calendar. This year the months of May and October had 5 Sunday's and 5 Monday's. January 2017 also has 5 Sunday's and Monday's.
