End of an Era

I turned on the TV this morning to find the news on and the news was life changing. At least that's how a lot of people are viewing the passing of Fidel Castro.
I think the man was in power when I was born, though I haven't checked on those facts, but I did note he was 90 years old, so he lived a long life.
Another fact I noticed on the news was that the airlines are now making flights to Cuba. You know that never happened during his life time.
Change is in the wind for Cuba and I wonder how it will affect the rest of the world. It truly is an end of an era.

As many people have been saying, nothing is going to change right away in Cuba since Castro's brother is still in power. He is supposedly only staying in power a couple of years longer and I don't know what will happen after that. Trump has had a lot to say about Fidel Castro, and he doesn't seem to want to stay friendly with Cuba, so who knows what will happen going forward. But yes, it seems that Fidel Castro was running Cuba forever! I remember hearing about him from a very young age.

Castro came to power in 1959 and certainly the Cuban missile crisis was part of what I remember from the early 1960's.

Change is going to happen and it is great. People are going to grow up learning something different about Cuba instead of what we had to learn. Amazing
