Wring the Neck

All week long I've been in pain. I know I've talked about my back before, but the wreck that damaged my back over a decade ago also caused damage to my neck (have had multiple surgeries on both). Also, those eye surgeries that began last year (even the ones they messed up) are now paying off, and I can now see so well my migraines have been cut by 80 percent. However, the neck pain has left me with migraines this week. So I finally gave in and called a woman in our church. She does medical massages, and she's helped me before. She never charged me, but I know she's recently had a decrease in business so I'm fully prepared to pay her. She charges less than most people who do the same thing anyway. I look forward to both sides of my body being pain free, and no longer as tight as a Hollywood starlet's new face!

I hope your feeling better now. Glad the eye surgeries helped and sorry to hear about the migraines. I feel asleep in front of my television with one and probably should have turned off the television and went to bed.

I need someone like that! It doesn't happen often, but my neck and back can get hurting sometimes and it will also lead to migraines occasionally.. although usually they're just bad headaches.

I wish you could get one. Maybe it could be your Christmas present?

@katsmeow1213 Yeah, that's what that lady did for me, a deeper tissue thing.. Perhaps places like Groupon would have a deal? Of course you'd want a place that did more than a light massage. Knowing how it helps me I just really want you to get one! If I ever win a million dollars remind me of this discussion.

@AmbiePam Hubby gave me a gift certificate for a massage a few years ago. It was nice.. but I think I need more of a deep tissue massage, that one was more of a relaxation massage.

This might seem like a silly question, because I'm sure dealing with this back and neck pain for so long, you've probably tried everything, but......have you tried heat? I swear by heat for my back problems, but we all feel things differently and the cause for my back issues and yours probably differ. When its really bad because of the damp weather, my husband will pack me up and take me for a drive in our SUV, it has heated leather seats, and the slight vibration of the vehicle and that heat make for some relief. I hope that this lady can bring you some relief.

Heat does sometimes help, but it never completely makes it better. Good idea about taking a drive with heated seats to boot!

I hope she can relieve your pain. Glad your eyes are so much better. Some plastic surgeries look natural and beautiful. Depends on the surgeon.

At first I was like, plastic surgery? I forgot that line I wrote. It seems more and more people look natural with plastic surgery. And if they can afford it, why not? I would if I had the money and thought it would make me feel better.

@DianneN Well, you look naturally beautiful, and that is the truth. But I have a feeling you would be beautiful no matter what.

It sort of did. My neck felt better, but she inadvertently game me a migraine. I took a migraine pill right afterward, so it's fading. I didn't tell her about the migraine. I didn't want to make her feel bad.

@AmbiePam I'm sorry you got a migraine from the massage. I'm sure it would have made her feel bad, so good you didn't tell her.
