My Starbucks Mug with 3in1 Instant Coffee Mix

Mug with 3-in-1 Coffee by HereandThere 2016

Here is the Starbucks mug that I claimed for myself when it first showed up in the kitchen. I also drink water, juice and eat ice cream from it. Although you can't tell from the picture, this Starbucks mug is wider in the middle. At the bottom it reads, "Microwave and Dishwasher Safe 12 fl. oz. / 355 ml. Made in Thailand." Coffeemakers and brewed coffee isn't that common in Filipino households. You're more likely to see Nescafe instant coffee powder, white or brown sugar, and powdered milk or Coffeemate powdered creamer in small containers next to a thermos of pre-boiled water. But before Coffeemate creamer became available, canned evaporated milk or condensed milk was also used. Filipinos used to buy sachets and sticks of instant 3-in-1 coffee mixes for coffee breaks at work. The first few brands sold at convenience stores were Nescafe, Kaffe de Oro (KDO), Great Taste, and Maxwell House. But now they buy 3-in-1 instant coffee mix in bulk to drink even at home for breakfast or merienda (snacks) simply because it's fast and easy, just add hot water. The taste is also consistent. There are also more local and imported brands and flavors to choose from now, such as Kopiko, San Mig, Blend 45, Cafe Puro, Good Day, Jimm's, Super (Singapore) and Hi Coffee (Oishi). A sachet or stick usually costs 5 to 7 pesos or 10 to 14 US cents. The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Ready Coffee Mix in the picture that I tried recently is pricier, 3 sticks for 45 pesos or 30 US cents each. If instant coffee was the only beverage available, would you tell a white lie to avoid drinking it, then buy yourself something else later? Do you have an all-purpose cup or mug that you use for any hot or cold beverage, soups, and even ice cream? (P.S. I used Pixlr Express free online image editor to add borders and text to my picture.)

I have one at the office and another one at home . My favorite line of 3-in`1 coffee is the Kopiko brand . I love their Blanca , Koppicino and the Brown coffee . I have the 3 types in my office drawer . I always drink one after i have taken my power nap during lunch break since i always eat early lunch during snack time . What is your favorite brand and what kind is it ?

@hereandthere I don't like that flavor of great taste because the cream seemed to overcome the coffee flavor already .

@hereandthere There's so many brands of coffee now in the market. I'm confused what to try. San Mig coffee has great aroma. I tried Berry Mocha the one with strawberry flavor.

We only drink instant coffee and prefer it to percolated coffee etc. But we have friends who, when they visit, will have tea instead of coffee because they don't like instant coffee.

Interesting article. I like a brewed cup of coffee or tea. Instant coffee think I last had a cup in college and not sure if I even finished it.

No, I don't mind instant coffee... I like the cafe range of Nescafe... I may have posted about it in the past, probably as a bubble if not on here...

I have a coffeemaker at home that I use once in a while. Most of the time I take instant coffee to avoid the chore of setting up and cleaning. But if I have a laidback weekend, my wife and I enjoy brewed coffee. I get my brewed coffee fix at the office when someone else brews and cleans the machine for me.

I will not tell a lie but I would decline the offer to have an instant coffee, this is something that I really cannot stand. I have a mug that I use only for the coffee, I drink the water from a glass.

@hereandthere I make the coffee at home, I like the espresso, when I go to Italy I always go to a café to have a good one. Coffee shops do not know how to make a good espresso.

I used to drink Maxwell House instant coffee in my school when I first started teaching. Now I'm retired and drink freshly brewed coffee or Keurig coffee. We have specific cups for coffee, tea, and ice cream.

I used to have 3-in-1 Nescafe especially when I was still working. I would buy a pack with 36 sachets inside. Later, I thought that the sweetener in the mixture is artificial so I switched to buying Nescafe coffee only and Coffeemate and added brown sugar to complete the mixture which I continue to do till now. Once in a while though, I take 3-in-1 on meetings where there is no available plain coffee and creamer.

I do not think I have ever drank instant coffee. I remember a new resturant in town opened and they served instant coffee and my husband was disgusted.
