Well it feels like that as it is so long since I was last here (and I just got a scolding for that too 
)
I have no excuses... well I have but I won't bother with them as the list is so long and I'm not sure that you would believe them anyway 
How is everyone? Please believe me that I really do miss being here and I miss all of my friends here and in the next few weeks, especially as the winter is now setting in and the evenings are darker, I definately will be here more often. I am not sure that I can still type as fast as before but I will do my bestest, promise 
Nothing to add here... oh the gnomes in the pic are having coffee in a bar in town. They appear outside many shops during the Christmas season and I will post more pics of them as the days pass (when I am out on my daily morning walk I see them)
So who is still here and what have you been up to?

Oh boy I have been away far too long 
Even though I wasn't here my thoughts often came back to you all but time was not on my side. Now it seems that if I move things about a bit, then I will be here in the evenings and hopefully will catch up. It is so good to see you!

How are you and how have you been??? We miss you too!!
Ah, these gnomes give me craft ideas . . . how fun it must be to see them around town! Nice to hear they get some leisure time to enjoy some coffee .
We are good . . . just busy with the kids and their schedules. I'm trying to be here when I can - I at least poke my head in daily but can't stay for long.

Now I too will try and be here daily as I am at home in the evenings and should be able to make some time and once it becomes a habit again then it will be like before I hope|

I rather like the gnomes (though I didn't know Italy had gnomes - maybe they are festive Dryads ... oh no! That's Greek mythology, isn't it?.
It's a little sad to see that they are sitting in the coffee shop all alone. I wonder if the slogan "You're Never Alone With a Gnome" would translate into Italian!
I am at my usual station on the Saturdays and Sundays leading up to Christmas, dressed very much like those gnomes are but (I hope) a little less wooden! I had 60 awed and awesome children to see today with requests ranging from PS4s, XBoxes and Tablets to a wish that poor people could have a happy Christmas, too (awwww!). Stars at the top of the tree are definitely in this year and it is amazing and encouraging that so many people between the ages of 7 and 9 list Maths as their favourite subject!
I'm not going to berate you for being absent. It's just very good to see you back! Welcome home and Happy Christmas!

@mysdianait Ah but you MIGHT, perhaps, make mince pies (I hope) and distribute them to Italian friends and, even, perhaps, make them a 'speciality' of Biella! It seems to me that, perhaps with the addition of a little grappa to the mix, they could be a very popular introduction to the local cafés!
I did have a request yesterday for a Snakes and Ladders game. I was delighted to hear that some kids, at least, like to play the old board games! (I also gave a kite to a young lad who, according to his parents, spends most of his time playing computer games! One glance at his dad in the background told me that it might actually see some use!)

@owlwings I would have to make the filling from scratch and I am not such a good cook, especially where sweet things are concerned 
I gave my grandson dominoes last year and neither of his parents could play so I taught them all
I don't get him anything techy as a gift ever and not only for Christmas.

Oh it is so good to see so many familiar faces!
We have gnomes indeed and these first appeared last year. I must post about them more thoroughly. They are particular to this town, Biella, and have something to do with the textile and yarn/wool industry here. That pic was taken on Friday, the day before they officially took up their positions outside most shops and in a big square where there is a Christmas market until 24th. They were taking a break before even starting! 
I'll try and sort out a translation that rhymes in Italian too
I find it sad that so many techy gadgets will be requested (and even worse received) by so many really young children. It's the same here and destroys their imagination IMO

@mysdianait To be honest, I come and go. Not around as much as before.. but am working full time and the kids keep me running around everyday.. Sometimes I don't even turn my computer on for months (and I won't Mylot from a phone!!).

Hello there!
Yes I went on holiday last September and I fear I did not write anything about that here I was at the sea for a week and did a lot of walking, stuck to my diet and came back feeling so much better. I continue walking and dieting too (though that is difficult in the cooler weather) and still have people for English conversation so that does not leave much time to be here.
My computer is slow now and severl things don't upgrade anymore (Dropbox being one of tem so my pics don't come automatically to my computer).
I will try and update with pics of the holiday too

Some parts of Italy are very warm but up in the mountains it snows a lot. There are beautiful ski resorts filled with people in the winter enjoying the white slopes. Here where I live we don't get a lot of snow in the past winters thank goodness and it doesn't get really cold until January and then only for a couple of weeks so we resist.
