I Do Not Know What the Weather Holds

My body has aches and pains but the forecast is not foreseeing any storms. A coworker said the same thing earlier about her rheumatoid arthritis.. We use a heated mattress pad on the bed and that helps my aches and pains a whole lot. In general working has been good for me, and I am glad I have the job. I think I had more aches and pains when I did not work. Now I am much more active. My mind is more active as well. I do not think working is causing the pain. I have new holiday recipes I would like to try, but I am going to need to be really active through the holiday if I do not want the pounds to pile up. If it is very cold it will be harder to make myself go outside. I guess we are back to the weather again. Many of our ancestors had no choice. Their livelihood, their livestock and crops depended on them being caretakers and caring for animals rain or shine, cold, or even colder. I sometimes wonder how the pioneers managed. They had to read the weather from the signs of nature. Sometimes I think they were actually more accurate than modern meteorologists are. It would be interesting if we could compare them side by side and see who knew the weather the best.

Animals know the weather a lot better than modern meteorologists and they even know in advance.

I have friends posting that their animals are behaving strangely and they are thinking "earthquakes".

@LadyDuck Where we happen to live now has not been feeling the tremors and Princess is as calm as can be. I do not doubt the animals sense changes in the earth including tremors and weather.

@GardenGerty This can be very possible, they feel even minor tremors.

My local weather man is always very accurate. He is interesting, telling his audience about different facets of the weather.

@celticeagle I has an effect on us even when we are indoors. Great for someone to be passionate about their job.

We are such a small and rural town we do not have actual local weather. All the different weather sources give us their best guesses. The best weather men or women actually go outside. It sounds like your local guy is an educator at heart.

We've had a couple of snowy storms this week. I've been in a lot of pain as well but I was out Christmas shopping 3 days in a row this week, and not getting much sleep to boot.

We often do not have a choice but it is better to have a day off between shopping days. Sorry you are in so much pain.

@GardenGerty Yeah, I've turned my whole week into a busy one. I went out again today. I did a bit of shopping (stocking stuffers at the store where I picked up my medication), but then went to visit a friend. I ended out staying for a light supper with her and didn't get home until after 8:30pm. I will probably feel really bad tomorrow. I need to take a break.

My bones are definitely dragging today. That has as much to do with work as it does with weather. Our bones at least and muscles, can give us localized predictions.

I agree the weathermen don't know much about the weather-I swear they guess more than anything else. Lol. I'm sure our ancestors had much more knowledge about the weather.

I would have to say that the farmers and land bearers knew the weather the best. They made their living by the weather, they couldn't afford to be wrong. There are always signs of what the weather will do, wildlife react differently depending on what's to come...

All those things are great, but I also like feather mattresses, they are so warm.

@Jessicalynnt Ask your granny to tell you about them. I see in some high end catalogs that they are coming back as "feather mattress toppers".
