It has been a full day

Today was the herbal class day. We concentrated on holiday teas, hors d'oerves and some very sweet treats. Classics like meringues with lemon curd.
As soon as we grabbed a quick sandwich at home we were out the door. Hubby wanted to pick up something at a junk yard near the place we were looking at a vehicle.
We went to look at the vehicle. They were asking $500, we offered $400 and it was accepted. We had to buy a new battery in order to get it home. It has another problem with the transmission but it appears that it is possibly from having been over filled. Hubby can fix it.
It is a 1991 GMC Jimmy, and some of the paint is very worn, but the heater definitely works. Hubby will no longer turn into a popsicle on his commute.
Hubby wanted to eat out, and we had a bit of grocery shopping to do. On our way home he drove all through our little town, looking at lights. I finally am at home, doing my online work before heading to bed.
I am sipping Tazo Tea, an herbal blend called wild sweet orange. It is wonderful and calming. Soon I will go to bed.
I hope you are having a good day and a quiet evening.

It is very cheap, but most of what is wrong is just that the people who had it do not know more than oil changes for maintenance. It is a good, serviceable vehicle, and the heater works. Hubby has already replaced the battery and the serpentine belt. The transmission fluid appears to be over full and on a warm spell he will deal with that as well.

@JudyEv Yes. Next on the list is to get the transmission fluid and filter drained and changed. And an oil change.

@GardenGerty You can save so much just by knowing the basics of mechanics.

@amitkokiladitya Your time is ahead of mine by nine or more hours. It is still considered very early morning here, but your comment was made nine hours ago. Today is a work day. I am glad my husband has a warm vehicle to drive to work.

I had a good day and my night is going good so far. It is almost midnight here. So I will be up for two more hours.

We rely far too much on cars here in the States and the price of many is high, but people do not maintain them. In the long run stricter laws would be better for us, I think.

@LadyDuck Often when we are driving I look around and cannot imagine how overcrowded other places are. Basically we are still out in the wide open prairie. Very little population.

@GardenGerty Europe is surely more crowded than United States, so many more people live in a much smaller surface, we would be in trouble without strict laws.

I have found that most of my days are as good as I choose to make them. We did have to buy a new battery up front to even drive it home.
