Some websites require to sign up an account by mobile number and I don't like it at all. At first, I am afraid my personal information will be spread out. Second, what if I travel abroad and I will not receive SMS to active my account. I prefer that I can use my email account to sign up an account.

I prefer that they have more choices for us to sign up an account, such as email account, username, Facebook etc.

@youless Yeah, but some of them require phone number for verification.. I'm okay with that... Anyway, I don't have any facebook account to sign up certain websites.

This is why I think some companies are so bad to require the phone information only.

Our bank accounts are routed through our mobiles and with the latest digitising recommendations by government for money exchange I too would worry if someone asked for my mobile number of registration.

I heard about the banknotes issues in India. It is a bad rule for most of common people. The bad guys always have a solution cope with it.

I do not want to sign up using my mobile number, you can be sure that you are going to receive plenty of spam messages and calls.

@youless I only gave out my number once and I was inundated by spam. I have blocked all the numbers that I consider spam, but it's a waste of time.

I don't have a mobile phone and sometimes I can't sign up for stuff because of this. But I don't think it inconveniences me too much.

This is why I hate it. I can't get any SMS or calls once I am abroad. So I will never login my account again.

Same here, I don't like to use mobile phone number to sign up or even leave it in most of the sites too, unless I really need too. I remember receiving notification to add phone number to Facebook and some other accounts, but I haven't do them yet. Just recently I signed up to taobao and realized they encourage to use mobile phone number to sign in, instead of email address.

You are right. If you login in a different place, you may be required to login your account with the active number from your mobile phone.

I have several sites(Netflix and Yahoo) that want my mobile number and I don't have one. I hope all these sites you may have a problem with due to this issue have a number you can call to get help. And, that there are options.

In fact in my opinion signing up with an email address is good enough.

Most of my accounts were signed up by mobile phone number . when I forget my accounts' passwords ,it is eaiser to log in by mobile phone than use email adress.
