36 Bags Sewn!

My picture actually shows 33 bags. As I got to fixing them up to wrap I realized I was short on bags for the guys. I had to go dig in my craft room for more fabric that would be appropriate for a guy to carry, so I made 3 more for a total of 26.
I gave out 26 of them for gifts, adding candy and other items into the bags before wrapping them. For the ones such as my brother, daughters mother-in-law, sister-in-law, nephew etc that I didn't have more than the candy for, I made up little desk sets to put in.
The desk set was in a cellophane bag and included some paper clips, index cards, notepad, bookmark, a pen, and a pencil. An idea I got from the fact that I used to sell those little desk gift sets online.
Everyone seemed to be pleased with their bags, some were really happy and excited to have one. And, I have 9 left to be able to get a picture of and list for sale in my etsy shop. I kept the yellow one with the red flowers for myself.
It took me 6 weeks or so of sewing to get them done around everything else that I do, but I feel it was worth it.
Just wanted to stop in and show you the picture since I've written about them often while making them.

I got the idea because these are one of the things my quilt guild is making for charity this year.

@celticeagle oh tell me about it! While I've been sitting and sewing this place has gotten pretty filthy...seems no one else knows how to sweep and mop and such.

@marsha32 .....Are you fingers hurting? Cleaning is such a horrid thing. It is just never done no matter how many times you do it.

Hoping for more goodies to put in next year by getting back to sending for freebies and using coupons.
I did get a good deal on my candy at Target. I had $7 in Target gift cards from shopkick, printed coupons, used cartwheel and got lucky that they day I went to buy it that all candy was an additional 25% off that day!

@Tina30219 good things to think of. I put my tote away with a few things in it and will add to it throughout the year. Of course there are birthdays too.
I sure miss ilovetoreview as I used a lot of the things that I got free or for very cheap as gifts this year.

I have been teaching my four year old granddaughter to sew. Today she sewed four buttons. What a proud little girl.

Yes, my favorite hobby. I do make a little money with it every year, but not much after materials and other expenses are subtracted.
