For Auld Lang Syne

Looking back on old times, long since passed is what this is all about - and, specifically, the year just gone.
I posted 106 discussions in 2016 (not including this) which received, on average, just under 24 responses each and an average of just under 25 likes each - I don't know why many discussions have received more likes than responses. Perhaps some didn't feel they had anything to say at that time or maybe they meant to come back and respond but didn't.
Over 5000 responses and likes (not counting the comments and attendant likes to responses I've left on other people's discussions, which must amount to almost as much again) is a bountiful 'cup of kindness' which I shall raise to my lips on the stroke of midnight tonight to toast all my friends at MyLot!
"Earnings"? Oh, yes! Some of you would like to know about that! Well, by a very rough calculation, for each response, comment and 'like' people have left on my efforts, MyLot has probably paid me something rather less than half a cent.
I hope you can see that it isn't the money that keeps me here. It's the value of the interaction with people whom I know only slightly and the value I hope I can give back - as we all do, according to our lights - from my knowledge, information, sense of humour (sometimes) and experience.
Here's to all of you, whether we have 'interacted' this year or not - may we do so in 2017!

Those of us who stick it out for a while know its not about the money - it's about friend, communication, tears sometimes, learning and on and on. See you again next year!

Are you hoping for more likes and responses or not? Do you think you will post more this year?

@owlwings I agree with you.
The statement that many make here, that they are not here for money could be true but more money in our bank is an indication that our activity is appreciated.
May many appreciate your activity

the money sweetens the pot for me, but it really isnt great money, lots of time nets me a small return, I'd be better off getting another job or something. I have too much fun here though!

Half a cent per isn't all that bad really. I've not averaged anything I do here as yet, although I used to keep track of all of that on other sites in the past. All I do is keep track, somewhat, of my daily earnings from when I get up to when I go to bed at night and it's never what mylot says is the daily amount, but I'll count it when I'm up past midnight even though a new day has already begun.

Happy 2017. Have I ever told you that my grand-mother is from Cambridgeshire. She was born in Newton in the Isle.

sometimes I will only "like" a post if my kids are sitting around me & distracting me to where I cannot think out a proper response.
