2016 was a difficult year for me--maybe in more than one way. Let us go to health first.
About a year ago, the pain in my left hip started to get pretty bad and I started to understand that I really would have to have hip surgery. But as I explored it, I realized that I would have to change my insurance in order to afford it. So long story short, insurance is changed and I am scheduled for a hip replacement on January 26. Signal the happy dance please! That means tat I will be ale to walks and dance and ride my bike again!
Let's go to wealth. Our Jetta broke 192,000 miles and broke an engine. $3800 later it has a slightly used engine. This was our Christmas present really. Now that could have been all bad news, but about two years ago, I started an envelope saving system for larger expenses. And so, for the second time, rather than charge the costs on a credit card, I was able to pull it out of our cash resources. So that is also could news. Signal the happy dance again.
Finally, some of you know my poetry, Some do not as I don't post it here. But I finally started sending pieces out for submission this year. And I am getting used to the rejection involved. I also am seeing some successes with some small literary journals. Anyway, I just heard that another piece is being published this spring, so you guessed it, signal happy dance again.

I went through the same thing when I was into writing poetry, which was quite a few years ago. Rejection. Rejection. Rejection. Acceptance! Rejection. Rejection Rejection. Acceptance! The Santa Barbara Review was the glossiest I ever published in. Will you share a poem or two?

Perhaps--when I post them here, I can't use them to send out--but perhaps I can share one from my blog--those are pieces I can't send out either--I wish I could say that I didn't mind the rejection--but it does get to me--

Hmmm, I understand you are submitting your poems for publications . . To which publications you are submitting them? I am interested coz I write poems, too.
