I have to fill my pill box.

Many years ago, we went to my MILs house once a week to help her sort her meds and place tham in a pill box. We were afraid that she´d poison with pills as she once took one instead of another. I thought then (never said it though) that older people needed too much help and sometimes we did not do things we wanted to do because we had to help them. Now my time has come. And although I can still fill my pill box, I do it with more concentration each time as the amount of meds grow I am ashamed now that I had those thoughts when helping a MIL that was the best one could have. We must help our elders as we will be there too. That is, if we are lucky.

I don't think you were alone in those thoughts. Nobody realizes what things are like until they are going through the same thing. It is nice when you have somebody help you especially when you are taking a lot of meds. It can get confusing.

I should be filling my pill box now instead of mylotting. That´s what gave me the idea for this post. I remembered my poor MIL when she was old and alone. I´m glad that my husband was a wonderful son.

This is the way of life. Our elders spend much time looking after us as children and deserve the same consideration later in life.

I only have one prescription, but take lots of supplements and herbs. I fill a two week pill box. I do not like it, but it is the best I can do as it helps me not forget something. Yes, we need to take care of and cherish our elderly as long as we can. I had a dream along those lines this morning.

My MiL was a lovely woman. I was happy to help her if she needed my help. I agree, we must help our elders.

@LadyDuck If you ask me, I think my MIL was nicer to me than my mom too.

I think that we do not have to think that we will have a reward for what we do. But we have to do as best as we can.
