Before bedtime last night I put two racks of ribs in the biggest slow cooker I own. I seasoned them with a dry rub hubby had made this summer, after I tweaked it, of course. I also put on some liquid smoke.
Needless to say, it became very aromatic overnight. I think it helped me sleep well, really. You know, kind of home like and comforting smells.
Well in my dream I was creating some kind of three layered casserole. I do not remember what was in it, but it must have been really good as a side dish.
We have just had breakfast now. I had whipped up a breakfast casserole yesterday before I seasoned the ribs and it was very tasty as well.
I am fortified now with the fragrance of meat cooking and the taste of eggs and potatoes and cheese. Oh, and two cups of coffee.
Time to do battle with the day.

I want to come eat at your house. I have been hungry for ribs for months. We need to get some and cook them up.

Hubby has always cooked ours in the past and made a big production. This was sooooo easy to do.

@GardenGerty ........So he didn't need to make the big production at all. Funny.

When I wake up its one big blur and I can swim really well and drive very well too but when I wake up its just a dream that was. I can cook but the economy limits my efforts.

It was all good. Hubby even gets to take ribs two days for lunch. They absolutely fell off the bones.

Sounds wonderful, I am not sure what I'm making for dinner tonight, but ribs sound really good.

@GardenGerty I have never cooked them in a slow cooker either, how interesting. Today I am slow cooking a pork butt roast for BBQ shredded pork sandwiches, nice and easy.

I love my slow cooker too and how it keeps the house smelling nice while everything is cooking.

That sounds delicious! The smell was wafting from my laptop into the room and now I'm very hungry for some homestyle cooking :)
