Not me, but the student I work most of the day with. He stayed home, throwing up. I am glad it did not happen at school. Hopefully no one else gets it, and he stays at home long enough to get completely better.

It would be pretty bad if the bug spread through the class.

This student receives one on one instruction. The most exposed people would be me and other staff members. Luckily, he is very good at washing his hands often, and so are we.

I used to feel so badly for teachers who had to clean up the results of a sick child going to school.

Teachers and aids do hold the fort until the custodians arrive. I feel sorry for them, especially if kids are not respectful and trash the place.

@GardenGerty Our school did not have a janitor during the day hours because it was so small, so the teachers had to clean up the mess. I remember getting sick, and feeling guilty because although the teacher assured me it was fine, cleaning up sickness is gross.

Or, at the very least, long enough for it to not be contagious any longer. Whatever it is.

At this time I work the most with this student. I seem to be somewhat immune to this particular thing. Now if he had started throwing up at school it would be different because it would even be in the air.

@GardenGerty Much more likely for you to catch it that way, regardless of how immune you are. Hopefully he'll stay at home.

I have a sort of flu, cough, running nose, headache. Let's hope it's not long.

The teacher and I worked on planning a different picture schedule for him. We also made copies and laminated stuff for the classroom use. At 1:20 in the afternoon I change to duty with 4th graders, and they were here.

Mercifully only this student came down with it.If only it weren't epidemic.

Yes, although I believe there may be others in the school that are ill. For the most part we do not seem to have illness of epidemic proportions here. It is not unusual though for kids to come back from school after a break and many of them be ill.

@GardenGerty Maybe the changeable weather is the main culprit.

So many people are sick right now! I keep hearing about all the different bugs going around. I sure hope I won't get anything else.

I hope you avoid anything that might be going around where you are.
