Despite heavy rain I had to head to the Council offices for a meeting about my current Council Tax payment plans, only to find they haven’t yet worked out how much difference my employment over the Christmas build-up period will make to it, but that it might alter at some point, so all I got were lots of maybes, ifs and whens, rather than any concrete information on what I now need to pay. I just know it will inevitably spike higher than what I pay while not employed.
The rain eased off as I headed to the library briefly before going to the job club session that dominated the afternoon, and then I returned home.

@LadyDuck they will have the information - they just want to avoid making it easy for me to get it - i'll just get a rude letter insisting on more money some time rather than giving me a clue now as to how much to be prepared to have to pay

@arthurchappell This is exactly how Italy did and one of the reason why we decided to quit.

They really do not make it easy to work do they. It is as if things are geared to make sure there is no incentive. I am self employed and really feel I should stop and sign on as I would be better off. Each time I try I have a stupid experience. Last attempt the woman told me to go to the doctor and say I was depressed. I was not sick at all!

@Jackalyn pretty bad of them to try to exploit the NHS that way when many are plunged into genuine depression by the state they reduce our country to

@Jackalyn a few years ago they tried stopping a woman's benefit because she refused to take up the offer (order) of work as a lap dancer - fortunately the media anger made them change their minds

@arthurchappell I was really mad. And had I done that no doubt they would have had issues with that.

I would have thought that Council Tax payments were easy to sort out. Madness.

@Poppylicious they are trying to avoid sharing how much discount and reduction I am entitled to due to my renting and unemployment status

I don't remember if, when I was on unemployment, that money was taxed or not. Wouldn't surprise me if it was.

@teamfreak16 my unemployment welfare is taxed, absurdly taken back by the very government that pays it to me

@teamfreak16 It lets then claim they are offering more welfare than they are as they don't mention how much of it snaps back their way as if on bunjee cord before me and other clients even touch it
