Planet Earth - Planet Upset

As I've read several posts today relating to the weather, and particularly the crazy ice storm heading this way again by early next week, I've seen that it isn't just in the US, but the UK is also experiencing some icy weather.
So is this part of the global warming thing? It sure is a different weather pattern than any I've ever encountered. Has there been any news regarding what's happening out there and why?
I can easily say I'm looking forward to spring if winter doesn't hurry and get its act straightened out and give me snow instead of ice. Oh yes, I do have some snow outside my window, and it will be there until at least Monday, when we have ice followed by rain once again. Then I'm sure we will see a lot of snow melt and even more icy conditions once again.
Anybody have an explanation about what's going on with the planet?
Thanks for reading.

Ice comes with the territory. It snows, temps get warmer, you get ice. Pretty normal.

Here in our country, it gets a little colder now. We have been having rain during Christmas and New Year the past few years, which we didn't have before.
It's changing alright and I think we have something to do with it.
The summers can be unbearably hot... and I can just imagine the increased temp in a few months.

Yes it is Global Warming, I know the new president doesn't believe in it but it has been proven for the melting ice, the rising seas and the crazy weather patterns. If you get a chance to find a documentary of Global warming, watch it. Its fascinating how bad the earth is now and it has to stop or get worse.

@just4him I didn't know he had a documentary but will look for it. I often go to historic places that are being effected by Global Warming and they show videos and movies made about the subject. Last summer we went to the Wild Center.

@PainsOnSlate It was on the National Geographic channel sometime in December called Before the Flood. Wild Center looks interesting.
