Diary Week 4

Now that its been 4 weeks and the new pants have made me feel a lot thinner and its time to just stay steady. Now when I'm stressed out its not food I run to anymore. I watch a movie, television, out for a walk or call a friend. Its what I should have done all along and yesterday I stepped on the treadmill, as walking outside in the rain wasn't an option. How do you deal with stress? I'm happy to try even more things to drop a pound or two in February.

When I am stressed I keep me busy. I take out my sewing machine and do something, or I paint or read a book.

My daughter takes out the sewing machine also. I use to put on her Girl Scout Patches years ago to relax. Recently, I bought a couple of the paint by numbers and thought it will be interesting to see what they end up looking like, as certain colors are hard for me to tell apart.

@Fishmomma I have never tried the paints by numbers, but I like to open my windows and paint what I see outside.

Are you talking about the plank exercise or walking on a plank of wood? I'm not sure and walking the plank sure could help my balance.

I really need to start walking again and lose some pounds but the motivation is sort of non existent right now while trying to find work and deal with other stress. I guess we all handle stress differently.

I think there are many of us who turn to food as a source of comfort. It's good you're replacing food with other options.

You are doing great. I am glad that you found a way to manage your stress. When I am feeling stressed I will either go for a walk to listen to some music.
