Just once I wish my dream would finish!

From 1981 to 1991 I was working for a major donut chain in their regional office in New Jersey. I had the most amazing boss, not only was he a great boss, an excellent speaker, a fair person and well respected - he was a hunk, very sexy...and I mean that sincerely! He was tall with dark wavy hair. He had an amazing voice. He was into working out and he had an amazing body. He had a smile that would light up the room. I was his administrative assistant and the other 12 or so females in the office were jealous! I had the best looking guy in the office and in the company! He new he was a looker and was very used to attention from females. He was just in the early stages of divorce when I started working for him. He had a string of women - and no - I wasn't one of them. The other girls in the office still think we had something going on. Back then I was not so bad looking myself, but I will say and it is the truth - that we never dated. Oh we talked about it....we went out to dinner and discussed the possibility of us dating but we knew it wasn't the right move. I had just broken up with a guy after three years so I wasn't looking for a man....but I couldn't help but daydream! It's strange that it is now about 25 years later and I still have dreams about him....I had one last night. In my dreams we get hot and heavy but we never finish what we start. I always wake up too soon! Someone showed me a current photo of him, it was a little blurred but I knew it was him. He has gained a lot of weight and lost a lot of hair!! Bur that smile of his is still the same.... To dream the impossible dream.... pixabay.com/en/dream-word-letters-boggle-game-1945680/

I had dreams about my ex a few times and I am glad not to have anymore. I do not why I felt like I was "cheating" my husband. I never understood why I had those dreams.

@LadyDuck I very seldom dream about either of my parents or my sister. I dream about two x-bosses...one the guy I wrote about and the one after him who was an idiot.

I think you are waking up for a reason. You know how you'd feel if you finished that dream.

@AbbyGreenhill .....I think you, and your mind, have wondered about this for many years. I wonder if you subconsciously wish you had dated him.

It's a happy memory of the past that comes to your mind sometimes. Did you ever wonder how your life would be if you started a relationship with him back then?

It would not have lasted more than a few months. It would not have been good for either of us LOL!

@AbbyGreenhill Maybe it's better to have this ideal image of him from back then. If you had a relationship you would also see other sides of him and maybe it wouldn't have been good for both of you as you said. I am sure that he also has the best words to say about you. Have you thought about contacting him after all those years?

Some dreams are just not meant to be. He does sound like a hunk and a good person to work for.

He was a great boss and not just to me but to all the district managers who reported to him.

Maybe you did really dream about whatever it was and your mind your waking mind does not want you to know and blocks it out for you for some reason. Some Men look gorgeous years later also. I was never a goiod looker but I knew one or two in the Office that were and the Boss did not have the eye for them either.

I wonder if you'll ever come across him again. Pity about the dream - or at least the waking up bit!
