It seems the people on the site have one agenda and it's causing me to become less than happy about being here.
I've now seen it in poem form, as well as all the bashing going on. I've had two minds to just leave for the day and not come back until tomorrow, or at least try and clear out my notifications, which I haven't done for two days now.
There are a lot of things I don't like, but I don't rant about them endlessly in every post. I'm almost afraid to go to profiles now for fear of what I'm going to read.
I know a lot about what's happening because of all your posts. I'm trying not to have an opinion about it all. That doesn't mean I'm hiding my head in the sand. It means I'd rather read about something else for a change.
How about birthdays, birthday parties, vacations, holidays, weekend plans, even Super Bowl hopefuls. I'd even like to hear about your relationship woes. I would like to read about anything, even if you are going sky diving this weekend. I'm not. Going up in a hot air balloon? Tell me about it. Tell me about the craziest things you've ever done. But please, let's be done with that topic.
I'm not going to say I don't care. I live here too. I do care. I just don't want to read about it in every single post.

I stayed off the bandwagon for two years and only recently started a few posts of the type you refer to. Acutally one was more but unfriending. If I see a title and it doesn't interest me - I move on....
Just scrolled thru the list and I see posts about snow,music,being sick and a zillion others that have nothing to do with politics.

@Mike197602 I would like to think I have a thick skin. I made it through all the pre-election debates that started what two years before the election, then all the negative commercials from both sides, and through the election. Now one week into the new term, someone stepped on my last straw.

Remember what the politics section was like when obama got elected?
It was open warfare
Things have calmed down a lot on new mylot...not for the better in my opinion.

Hm, political stuff? I know, seems like atopic everyone wants to voice their opinion on. Sometimes I think there are some good points I would like to write about, I wish to remain respectful to even the people who don't share my opinions. Which is something that has been lost this election I think. Another one for me is people who always write about the money on here. Makes me sad, I know they have other thoughts and adventures too.... I hope... right?

I hope so, but when it seems to be the mainstay of their topics, you know they're here only for the money. I read a post a couple days ago from a person who said they would be gone as soon as they made payout until next month. It's probably why the halls of myLot look so bare the first couple weeks of the month.
I'm doing my best not to have an opinion.

Not to be upsetting about this but right now everything is upside down. People are completely uncertain what is going to happen to this country now. So, just like we had to read about the past administration, we now have to read about this one. And personally, I don't think that is a good enough reason to leave the site. There are many more posts or you to read and comment on. And posts like the ones you said you would like to read about instead. So do go blaming MyLot for any of this. And after all, this is supposed to be a free country. Lets not get crazy about things.

I have no intention of leaving the site. I do realize we have the freedom to post whatever we like and I like that about the site. I don't blame myLot for what people post. I'm doing my best not to get crazy about what I read or post.

I know I'm not around as much as you are, but I've been here a bit more this week and I've not seen any of those. I will check back several posts to find something that interests me. If you're talking about politics as a few here have surmised, I don't think I've seen any of that since before the inauguration.
But, if you must, take that break, for it would probably do you a bit of good.

My poem was/is from both point of views! Trump supporters as well as who are against him. It depends on the perspective of the reader.

@just4him I stayed away from the topic myself initially. I stated several months ago that I am not fond of the guy but I was okay to give the guy a chance. I mean what else you can do right? He won. Let see him do his duties.
But a certain member here wasn't okay with that and thought it prudent to send suggestion after suggestion on posts telling "Trump is great". Then proceeded to do so on facebook too. Now I am on "Annoyed" mode and since last few days I have been avoiding that person. I even went away for a month and a half from myLot and facebook to avoid all this election business.
So instead of confronting the person, I am taking my annoyance out on Trump debates. Since there is not much to debate here at the moment. It is better than having a go at a person and have myself banned from myLot. I am certain I will not be very respectful or polite if a confrontation happens with that person.
I don't want to leave myLot.
