Sweet and Sour

This may be my curative combination. I was coughing too much to sleep while ago. I got up, and made hot water. Then I stirred in apple cider vinegar and honey. I have had two large mugs so far. I do not cough. The other thing is that I made sweet and sour meat balls. I had meatballs in the freezer and was going to take that to the pot luck I missed. So I made the sauce for it for us at home. It is a brand new recipe for me, and I loved it! Sweet and sour meatballs, with hot mustard on the side. I am not coughing. My sinuses are not hurting. I hope you feel well, and I hope you had a great lunch.

Apple cider vinegar always hurts my throat. I guess maybe I just need more honey in it.

You need to really dilute it well. I made mine very "light".

@JudyEv Like a tablespoon ful or so in 8 oz or more of water. Equal parts of honey and vinegar.

@GardenGerty That's what I didn't do. I will do that next time.

The hair on my arms stands up with I take the cap off the apple cider vinegar - I can't even imagine drinking it.

Oh, I dilute it heavily. It is just mildly tangy in the water. My sweet and sour meatballs or a good vinaigrette dressing has more zing.

@AbbyGreenhill if you had asked me ages ago, I would not have been either. Especailly not sweet and tangy both. I guess I changed.

Don't think I have every had that. I used to make sweet and sour sauce for pork and rice. That was good. Had vinegar in it. Good stuff.

I think it is basically the same no matter what meat you put in it. Yes, vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar, pineapple, bell peppers.

I always seemed to be healthier when pregnant. For all the exposure to viruses I have had this year, I think I have done okay.

Probably everyone's grandmother said to use honey and apple cider vinegar. Mine also insist gargling w/salt water daily, not just when feeling ill, will keep the bugs away. Hmmm. Maybe!

I do not know what my granny would have said. Mom did vinegar and honey on a spoon full of sugar, I think. Salt does kill germs, and when you have a sore throat it reduces swelling, Same for dental issues.

I have to assume it is the various types of vinegar. I am not totally well, but better.
