A quite busy end to the first month of the year as my welfare money came in, coinciding with many direct debit bills depleting it before my eyes. I checked my mail and found excitedly that my mail-box was almost full, but only one letter was important (a bill) and the rest was outright junk mail I immediately threw out. I had to collect my train tickets for my trip to Manchester at weekend and I stocked up on food too. The highlight was a talk at the local community centre on the history of Morecambe Bay which I’ll review separately, but a very good free presentation indeed. Arthur Chappell

I thought I had some mail the other day and was a bit excited. But, alas only junk too. Sounds like a nice day.

Most of the mail I get in my mail box if junk these days. I don't get too much actual mail. It doesn't take money long to disappear it seems. Usually I get paid one day and the next it is pretty much gone and then I have to wait until next payday. The talk sounds like it would have been very interesting!

Sorry about your Welfare Money going like that too. Morecambe Bay I can say I have been three or four times on Day Trips it was lovely. Will catch up on your review when I can.

@lovinangelsinstead21 it is a beautiful, though often dangerous stretch of costline

@arthurchappell I liked it a lot. I used to love going to a Tywyn and then to Rhyl when I was small with my Nan. We would walk miles along the Sea Front. No Buses all walking.

It is sad to see money come in then go out almost immediately to pay bills.

I wonder why the important letters in the mail are always and only invoices.

I hate those days when the mailbox is jam-packed full of circulars.
